That ol gal is original paint hard to find i would not paint it but leave the patina it look identical to the barn find i bought in Morton Illinois mine has the Sherman Combo 12 forward and 3 reverse gears
I have a 1949 8n , I redone the outer seals and put new brakes and hardware on both sides. The old shoes were saturated in hydraulic oil, and not functioning. Changed it over to 12v and installed electronic ignition, put a new carburetor on it also. Hydraulics won't come up all the way, I have to pull the side cover off and do some investigating. I purchased a shop manual like I do with everything I own, sure saves me money and time in the long run..your old girl sure sounds good,, enjoy.👍
I have the same tractor a 49 with same problem. Pull your top cover off and put new rings in the lift piston and adjust the springs made a world of change. Not a hard job at all . cost you around $50. And couple hours of work.
I’m guessing I was about his age when I was first allowed to plow by myself. I was using our 1944 2N with straight cut gears, and unless it was heavy sod from years before, it was 2nd gear always. Old tractor would fly yet I could almost idle it down at the end and she would lug right through. Still my favorite plow tractor. Or TO30 with super Powerpack will eat it alive but still the whine of the transmission and the fact it was the first my grandfather plowed with too and the one he started me on.
Love my 9n. Those machines are way more capable than alot of people give them credit for. Mine has done an insane amount of work for me, and still adding to it
just a shame so much top growth, but all considered the discs are doing a job!
May have been wise to cut and collect the surplus grass before hand???? Jeb UK
I found a 1952 8N, with a bucket.
The engine sound, grunting through the resistance of the discs is priceless!
A 2 furrow muldbord plough, young fella is doing a good job
He's doing good but there's a lot of thrash to plough in
Nice ford!

I hope that someday I will get to plow with my 1948 8N.
Is this 8n in draft mode ?
I'm ready for paint with my project restoration of a 39 Ford (Ferguson ) #730. Runs great and a ton of fun. Going with all grey, but not so dull.

Satisfying as all get out

What a beautiful little tractor!
That's a sweet tractor. CO OP never heard of it till now. Very neat.
Nice! Purring like new.
I'm looking at buying one of these disc's, have you been able to find replacement parts for them? There is very little info about them on the web
You got that old girl running like champ and she’s throwing that sod over like she’s on steroids 👍
Nice job very straight and the N isn’t even labouring at all you must have that old girl tuned up just right!
Good running little tractor
Two bottoms??? Impressive. What’s the size of those blades?
Yep 2 it pulled it all day long
I just bought one yesterday, for my birthday gift, with a rebuilt motor and new paint job etc for 2600.00
Thats a good deal for a rebuilt one
Sure is, I just paid 2450 for a rebuilt engine alone. My block was cracked and didn't want to rebuild it.@@shelp9335
That ole girl still gettin it!
