Ronnie James Dio 1975-1978 Passaggio
David !!!!!!!!h
I've never really heard them compared like this. I love both singers and have huge respect for both. Now I can actually hear why my ears love these voices. Very cool comparison.
I paid to see both and I did not regret either. I generally have a slight favouritism for Dio's clear articulation, but I love both.
david COVERDALE, IS THE BEST,
Ronnie is a legend... Most powerful voice in rock/metal! Coverdale is in my top 5 for sure.... But Ronnie was this HEMI engine that is fine tuned with a raw power.
My favorite voices of rock, awesome!
⚡️The ironic thing here is one is too overated n’ the another one is undervalued, both had pure talent no doubt bout’ it🎸
Ronnie did it better david coverdale sounds like hes on his last breath dios voice sounds so clear a d beautiful
In all fairness compare Freddie Mercury the Prophets song from the night at the opera to what Dio did in 1975. They're neck and neck. There is no one better than the other. Freddie and Ronnie ruled in the 70s metal era. No one touched them
Dio ~ 🤘🤘
Ronnie James Dio Rules 🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼🔥
All in E minor too!! Fast Eddie Rip!
Technically (in my opinion), Ronnie Dio was a more skilled vocalist (especially during live shows) than Mercury. Another thing is that Freddie covered many more styles and genres, “hit the squares” as they say. Hence its much larger success. Dio is firmly established in hard rock/heavy metal, i.e. if some person didn't like this musical styles, then he had never heard Ronnie. But Freddie managed to embrace the immensity - those hairy guys in black leather jackets, who shook their heads listening to "Stone Cold Crazy" or "Tear It Up", African Americans who danced in their clubs to "Another One Bites the Dust" and "Back Chat", and housewives, who joyful sang along to "I Want to Break Free" or "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". In that sense - he's a unique artist for sure.
Coverdale was the 3rd best Deep Purple singer, but I like his version on here, not saying it's better, just my preference.
They're both fabulous of course, but Gillan and Halford are better.
To my knowledge of vocal philosophy regarding the anatomical process of these singers' voices, Guillan and Halford do not come close to the level of technical proficiency, vocal manipulation, endurance, control and especially in relation to the virtuosity and extreme mastery of the vocal mechanism presented by Ronnie. He sings with extreme power in a full chest voice almost all the time, with open throat distortions but maintaining total naturalness throughout his range, with practically no facial or throat muscle tension in his expressions, in addition to a perfect embouchure and with methodically controlled vocals throughout the performance. The others do not come close to presenting this level of vocal ability. We have several examples of excellent lyrical singing teachers who make practically the same argument regarding Ronnie James Dio's vocal virtuosity.

From the "Golden years" EP...much better than the Studio version for me...
His voice made an impression on Rock/Metal that will resonate for centuries. As long as we keep good music alive and educate our youth to find this music.
This was with Elf?
Hermosos temas
COVERDALE
What's the version of "don't talk to strangers"?
This list of ballads was missing the songs "My Eyes" from the album Lookup the wolves and "All the crazy Sailed away" from the album Dream Evil and "Too late" from the album Dehumanizer, and "Never More" from the album ELF, all great songs
The lyrics are written by David Coverdale ,so no discussion about who was singing it better. Of course Coverdale, he is filling the song better. Dio has just to interpret the song!
My fav is Gillan, but hey, these are the cream. Think Freddie should of being here though.
Ronnie James Dio it is!!!
No one tops Dio.....Not even the great Coverdale !!!
The two greatest rock singers to ever stand in front of a microphone.
The song is roller from Gillan
David is the greatest of all time. Ronnie is one of the greatest of all time.
Rob halford god of metal
dio all the way even if I like Freddy too
Greatest guitar solo
That song never sounded so good!!! TY!!
Dio could pull off singing for Queen after Freddy's passing. Totally!
But of course he would never do that. Can you imagine Dio singing "The Invisible Man" or "A Kind of Magic"? I'm not. Ronnie was too uncompromisingly a supporter of dark and heavy music to start singing entertaining pop melodies.
@@dudash1000 Dio would probably be on-board to sing a number of songs from Queen's first few albums though, especially the first 2 albums. Some songs from those albums are right up his alley. Imagine Dio singing the likes of Ogre Battle, Seven Seas of Rhye, Great King Rat and the Prophet's Song. I can also see Fairy Feller's Master Stroke and My Fairy King. He'd bring more power to the songs. I know I'd pay good money to have Dio take a crack at Bohemian Rhapsody, March of the Black Queen, and Innuendo for sure.
both were phenomenal talents. not really an apples to apples comparison as Dio did much heavier material for much of his career. Im not going to say that Freddy couldn't have sung with more power. Queens music didn't lend itself to that style but Dio sang with a power that Freddy didn't show.
Freddie Mercury is called The King of Rock. Rob Halford is called the Kind of Metal. BUT... DIO Is called the GOD of Rock & Metal.
Dio was most powerful, consistent and more technically proficient.
Its not track race or a soccer game to say this singer is better or worse cos each singer had his special qualities and unique approach that made him successfully great singer and also had his ups and downs that from a scientific point of view now the way each one’s voice reflects on you that depends on your own personal feelings and interest
Dio is the best!!!
My only regret is never managing to see them live.
I love Dio's voice but I put Coverdale ahead on this song for the passion and the pace. Dio was a little too fast and I didn't feel the emotion so much.
Dio=Ferrari , Coverdale=Hyundai
I heard perfect Eb5 from Dio for many times in live shows. Everybody including Freddie and Ronnie makes some bad notes sometimes. But in my opinion Dio was more sustained.
I love both singers but Freddie is my all time favorite. This battle is all personal preference They are both vocally fantastic.
Should've Included Geoff Tate To This List
