Переглядів 66 тис.8 років тому
This is my 2012 dodge ram 1500 the driver side headlight keeps going out sometimes the bulb would be blown but most the time they were fine, the brights also would not work on the drivers side but if I would take it all apart and unplug then plug the wire harness back in it would fix it but only work for a couple days to a week. Talked to some people and got these wire harness from my local par...

Thanks for showing how to scratch the headlight up on a workbench & you don’t have to take the grille out to get the headlight out.
The dealership exchanged new light bulbs and a $170. later the light on the left side still wouldn't work. I did exactly what you described in the video, and it works like a champ! Thanks so much for posting.

What's the part number for the passanger side
I got half way through the video and I just couldn't stand it any more! What's the matter? Cat got your tongue? Would have been nice if you would have at least described what you were doing, when you were doing it !
Your video was pretty lame. You didn’t talk about why you did what your doing nor what your doing. You should have talked about why you put in the extra plug what it’s supposed to fix and how and what your problem was originally and you could have edited to spare us.
Where can I find this wiring harness?
Just tried this and it worked. Thanks for posting this video. It was just as easy as it looked. Only thing is I didn't need to use the high beam harness.
I have a 2012 ram ST. My truck uses h13 bulbs. They were working fine the only reason I replaced was because I thought new ones might be a little brighter. After I put the new bulbs in when I turn high beams on it doesn’t get any brighter. Seems like it’s staying on low beam, doing it on driver and passenger side. Do you think I need to do like you did. To fix it?
He’s gonna have the plastic lens all scratched up by the time he finishes rubbing it all over the table.
You big dummy. You don’t need to remove to grill to get the headlight out. Use a long extension.
Big dummy? you stupid fuck Bad enough you had to look up a UA-cam video to fix your truck you big dummy.
Ah...Essex County, The Sun Parlor of Canada. This reminds me of Jamaica!
Good video with a simple fix. But I would've put a towel or something underneath the headlamp while working on the table. Good information.
I just tried this fix last night and it was a success!! Thanks for the tip and instructions. It was super easy to fix and very inexpensive too. Now hopefully it lasts and the problem is fixed for good. Thanks again!
Would it be same part #'s for passengers side?
I'm going to try this ASAP. * Big side note - 2012 Big Horn was in the shop for almost a month while they troubleshot the CEL I had. Turned out to be a convoluted issue of a camshaft, lifter and supposedly a computer module that was replaced. (If you're not, they recommend synthetic oil. Dodge is aware of the issue, but there is no recall currently, but their rep said the majority of trucks that develop this issue were not running synthetic.) In the week I've had it back I noticed the driver's side low beam was not working. Before tearing into it, I checked and discovered the high beam was out too. Two bulbs replaced, but both still out. Hoping this is the solution, as I do NOT want to deal with a TIPM. Will update......
**Update** I ran out and bought the part 90006. Unfortunately it didn't solve the issue. You know what did? Pulling the headlight assembly out again on a whim at work to discover that on pulling it out, the connectors came apart. They didn't put them back together completely when they wrapped up the big camshaft job! Anywho, I was fortunate that Advance Auto actually gave me a refund.
Finally! It Worked on my 2012 Longhorn! Advanced Auto had the two parts in stock--although the counter guys practically had to be walked through the issue at length...just to get the blasted parts (make sure to make screenshots of the two boxes with a smartphone.) (or just order them) Thanks, Rufio Lee! Really!
your just plugging new wires into old wires???
Yeah mon
Seriously, and what issue is this fixing? Lights that are out? or dim? or flicker?
Well... I just tried this, and it didn't work for me unfortunately. I'm beginning to believe I have bigger problems. Both my low and high beams on my drivers side went out a few months ago. I purchased new bulbs and that did not fix the problem. So I ordered these harnesses. By the time they came in, my lights were back on and working normally. About a week ago they both went out again, so today I installed the harnesses, and nothing happened. However, my TPMS is also acting all kinds of messed up, and has been the entire time, so I'm wondering if I have a problem with my computer.
Wait, so this isn't a REPLACE? Is that correct? These are extra wires that you are ADDING to the existing wires?
Yes that is correct. Just like a lil extension of wire. Plug and play
@@rufiolee7330 Ok, I'm going in...
Hey is this showing how to fix a headlight not working? Just replaced my headlight and it is still not working?
Don't talk through your video or anything..
Ok....... Don't comment on the video or anything.
That's makes zero sense.
Just came across your video and will be soon attempting this fix on my 2011 ram sport with the quad headlights (same as yours). Was wondering if you could provide an explanation as to why there are two different part numbers: F90006 and ...0008. Are the two respective harnesses side specific? And if so could you confirm which # goes with which headlight side? Thanks in advance!!
Both harnesses were for the driver side but not sure if it matters what side. One was for the low beam and the other for the high beam if I Remember correctly.
Thank you for posting this video. Just picked up the parts and installed. Will follow up in a couple weeks on the status of the fix. Edit: 3 weeks later and light is still working.
Any luck?
I have a 2018 Ram and the wiring harness is one clip and you do not take the turn signal light out. My problem is the DRLs not the turn signal lights will not turn on. When I had the old OEM lights in the yellow light would turn on when the truck was engaged in gear but for some reason these do not. Now if my fog lights or my headlights turn on the DRLs and turn signals lights will light up, What could I be missing. This should have been plug and play.
Thank you so much. It was bugging me almost to the point where I was losing sleep because my drivers side low beam and high beam wasn’t working. Got the parts and had it done in no time and lights are working again.
I'm waiting for the parts to come in today. If this works, you will be "the man" in my book. I've been fighting this for over a month now. Dealing with electrical problems in late model vehicles with these control/ground modules is a daunting task to say the least.
The plugs weren't compatible for my 2011 Ram 2500.
2:13 i wouldve been cursing and swearing at that moment
Noah's wife here, it worked and worked great until tonight. Both high and low on passenger side out again. Any ideas?
Only think I could think of was make sure the contact points are super clean with no water in them, where they plug into each other.. Other than that it should work no problem, mines been good since the video posted
Thank you. We unplugged and plugged them back in. They worked. And the didn't and then did. I will make sure the contact points are dry. You Sir are Awesome. Thank you again.
I can't thank you enough for posting this. IT WORKED!!!! Thank You!!
-Noah's Wife
Yes! These comments are why I made the video! Glad it worked mine still working mint!
It has taken me until today to find out why this was happening. My driver side lights would flicker on a while then turn completely off every day. Dealership told me it was a loose socket. I replaced the housing and still the same problem. I wish I knew how simple of a fix it was 6 months ago. Thank you man, lights haven't flickered all day
Just tried this. Didn't think it would work, but it has at least initially. Here's to hoping it keeps working. Thinking about doing the other side although I haven't had any problems with it. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks, this problem was driving me crazy. I will try this today.
Installation went like a charm. I'll update in 6 months, assuming that it doesn't fail before that. Thanks Rufio.
I have a 2014 sport model with projector headlights, mine won’t turn off, until I toggle the switch a lot and I usually have to leave it in auto, is the new “off” I can turn the fog lights off but when I turn all the lights on I can’t turn my lights just to the park lights. It’s either all on or all off. This issue killed my battery. Took it to the dealership after I bought a new battery today and they said it was my dime light and sent me away. A few hours later I get a knock on my door that all my truck lights are on! I open my truck and the lights were in the off position! Had to turn it back to auto again just to get them to turn off. Is this a wiring issue, do I need a new switch unit, or is it a connection issue? Please help before I have to drop big $$$ on this, past my warranty as of last month.
Dome light*
4:35 mark for a clear picture of the part numbers i used, so far this has fixed the problem for me also try and keep the wire harness secured from bouncing around
AWESOME. I have replaced 5 bulbs in 4 months, and to be honest I was told by the dealer it was TIPM computer (Totally integrated power module) and that it would be $800 to fix or $175 to reset with no guarantee it would work. Sometimes the high beam is blown sometimes the low beam is blown. This time I taped up all the harness to the back of the light so it is not bouncing around when I drive like a maniac. If they go again, I AM GOING TO GET NEW HARNESSES. I am an idiot for not thinking it could be the harness this whole time.
SMOKE DOPE
Good job Shawn I knew that that would help you out. Keep getting those views.
My problem is the plug that goes into the light keeps burning up.i have the projector headlights.
Hey, thanks for the video. I had this problem for 5 months now and even the garage didn't know what the issue was. Your video helped me fix it myself. Thanks for the vid and thanks for the part numbers. Cheers.
Yes it did the problem hasn't been back since this video was posted
did that fix your problem for good or have it started goin out again?
Ya Boi Roy problem is fixed for good
