Great video Omar, quick question could you have simply teardown a 2.5 SSD and stick it in as the 2nd SSD instead of using a msata to sata adapter?
Thank you! I think most 2.5" SATA SSD PCB are almost the full size of the case, so they won't fit. Same with SATA to M.2 (2280) adapter; too long. But I know there are 2.5" SATA SSD with smaller PCB out there so it is possible.

I have also performed this upgrade and it went smoothly. Be warned: eBay sellers will try to advertise the 1080p panel but I got the same 720p TN panel as the 5290 has. The replacement that worked for me was taken off a working 5280.
Yeah, safe bet to look for a 5280 panel, as I'm not sure if Dell officially made full HD 1080p panel for the 5290. I've now upgraded and have a 5421 and 5320, both came with 1080p panels.
Maybe I wasn't clear: I ordered a panel from eBay that was supposed to be for the dell latitude 5280 but the advertisement was false.
