Aw the good old days before health & safety bollocks added 60 seconds to a fire appliance’s turnout time, by banning firefighters from running in the corridors, and insisting they’re all fully dressed in PPE before the driver is allowed to release the handbrake and proceed to the mercy call. They’ll be banning fast response driving next. And what about entering burning buildings? Jesus, that could get a bit nasty! Before you know it, firefighters will be turning up at a raging inferno, thirty minutes late, and armed only with leaflets of how to escape the flames!
