Documenting trips from Caernarfon to Beddgelert and Porthmadog to Tanybwlch in September 2020. Featuring a carriage overrun over a set of sprung points at Beddgelert. The driver appeared to forget he was supposed to detach the carriages before running round. He didn't notice he was still pulling a train until the first carriage was over the points. He couldn't reverse from there, because one ha...

Astock waa best metline stock. The seats were soo bouncy.

I don't idea, wonder why it is, hm?!! :(
Great video. ☺️
Great stuff! Killer guitar work!

Central Line 1962 Tube Stock
Piccadilly Line 1938 Tube Stock
Where was that photograph in the opening sequence taken?
The red color of the Q stck and the roofline closely resembled the Broad Street subway of Philadelphia of 1928 vintage. They had straw seats for the motorman an passengers. These lasted until 1984.
After 52 years it was time for the London Underground A60 stock to retire gracefully.
Built to last
I know that rolling stock has to be replaced but its still rather sad too it go,
Ur a Londonist u tell us exactly where to go
Ahhh the Central Line I know it well, extremely noisy in places and a sauna inside the carriages during summer
The worst sound I have ever heard on the Tube is the Central line Eastbound just before Bethnal Green. It starts as a quiet vibration but after a couple of seconds it is a deafening roar of about 110dB (I measured it)
@@alessandrowda yes it’s certainly loud alright, never forget it that’s for sure
Thank you. I lived in Rayners Lane in the 1940’s and we used the Piccadilly and Metropolitan lines there. Reliving my history.
Did the Metropolitan line have t stock then?

Great film
This seems to be a very charming city, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
It’s weird, I know it sounds silly, but I was born in the early 80’s, “83, I always thought the 1973 stock was there for long time before 1973, always thought the bakerloo, district lines stocks were there abit longer, I remember travelling on the Piccadilly line from Holborn to Heathrow in 1985 when I still living in Leyton, but the reason I’m saying this I’m used to seeing the 1973 stock semi speed than the other original stock like the 1959 which looked like the central line trains “62, I just could not imagine on semi speed, I’m used to the 1973 stock semi speed and they made them different speed if you know what I mean
1973 was more of an order date they didn’t show up till 76/77 (unit 100-101 test train)
Wow just came across this clip, I worked along side Bill for many year's when I was at Barking Depot.... Good times. What a great man he was to work with 👌
That's fantastic to hear. I was only with him for about an hour, but he was a true gentleman 🙂🚃
He sure was, old school👍
like the 73 stock
Three build-series: Q23, Q27 and Q38, all withdrawn by 1971 (date of the last run referred to).
WE NEED PART 2 !!!!!!
1:07 in the cab the one with the white hair he was driving these when i was at school back in 1998!
The 1973 stock still runs on the Piccadilly line today, refurbished with longitudinal seating only and extra space to cater for baggage travellers to and from Heathrow
Very good thanks! UA-cam videos about the Piccadilly line probably get lots of views from tourists who either visited London or are about to visit London. For tourists arriving at Heathrow in the morning the tube is an incredibly easy way of getting into London - just avoid the peak times.

Great video. I miss FELTHAM
Wow top quality video
Many thanks.
My 2nd fav line. It was my local line
Love it. But how was a hat going to stop you getting an electric shock?
I believe they were rubber lined, or at least I HOPE they were!!!
I see they only had 4 carriage trains then.
That was exclusive to the East London Line. The trains on other sub surface lines were of the typical length we have now.
Two 1962 stock trains still operate on the Central line as Sandite rail trains. The 5 car unit that did the West end, swapped with the 8 car East end unit because maintainence left the 8 car train unable to fit in the tunnels.
Thanks Ian 😊🎶
This is beautiful. A lovely 2 minutes of tranquility in these most challenging of times. Put together by the individuals sending in video clips from their own personal, not professional, devices, and choirmaster Keith turning it into this. Stunning.
grate video did u no the picadilly line is tfl to
the piccadilly line is part of the london underground, which is part of tfl, so you're technically right.
#ms #findAcure I myself have relapsing remitting ms im just trying to find people to talk 2 that can relate because honestly no one knows how it feels unless ur actually living it ...... Great video. I was on that train from about 09:00 at Baker Street right through to the end.
I was chasing it all day, as you can tell from how much footage I was able to get of it! I WAS on the last run from Watford, though. Glad you liked the video. It also features on J&K Video's DVD 'Metropolitan from A to S' I'm 'K', from J&K, just in case you hadn't twigged it. The version there has a full commentary.
Which firm built the Q Stock? Was it Metro Cammell, Cravens, or BRC&W? Or someone else?
it was different firms overall
Probably also the Gloucester RC&W Co.
and now some battery locos have some of the equipment from the q stock
This seems to be the line for shopaholics because it goes to all the main shopping places
stephthestar90 You're dead right there!
1:55 the 1960 stock was painted red for 125 years of the Ongar branch - nothing to do with graffiti
One of our production team was a senior buyer for London Underground, and he actually bought the paint used to cover the damage caused by years of grafitti removal. This also happened to coincide with the anniversary you mention, but the main reason WAS to cover the badly damaged aluminium body panels.
Just... WOW!
pun pun Not bad for a garden railway, is it?!😀🚂
Lovely to see the 1959 stock footage at Hounslow West new build. Some 1938 trains managed to get to Hatton Cross for a few moths in 1975.
