Is Alburferia REALLY the party capital of the Algarve?
Переглядів 5042 роки тому
We had an amazing time in Albufeira! No reason to stay “right in town”, there is so much hiking, site seeing, and history right outside of town! We had an AMAZING place WITH an amazing yard, the drone footage shows where we stayed! Coming up next, LAGOS!
Two reasons why the mall on the island of Madeira, Portugal is better than yours!

Unexpected surgery in Albufeira, Portugal.

Nikki had an unexpected surgery with a great dermatologist in Albufeira, Portugal. The hospital was www.lusiadas.pt/. (Hit the “little a and big A” in the link to translate to English). Her surgeon was specialty trained, spoke amazing English, and was great! Here in the link for the Dermatologist. www.lusiadas.pt/corpo-clinico/dr-tiago-mestre.
If traveling in the Algarve, Portugal. Ayamonte Spain is a must see.

Ayamonte, Spain is a quick ferry ride from Santo Antonio, Portugal. It’s around $5.00 for a round trip ticket, but well worth it. We stayed at www.urbanpatios.es/. Cliff is an AMAZING host. Great “base camp” for two weeks to see Seville Spain, hiking, biking, and wine tasting. If you need a custom trip to this awesome destination, give Mariyana a shout at letsgo@yolodat.com.

We have sold everything we owned, and retired at the age of 48! Come with us as we share a few things about getting off the dreaded "hamster wheel", and the hustle and bustle of everyday life! We didn't win the lottery, get a big inheritance, or build giant retirement funds for the last 20 yrs! We made a complete "mind shift" on what is TRULY important in life! Definately..its a beautiful tradional spanish town with lovely beaches and frequented mainly by Spanish tourists in the summer
I am working in tavira restaurant 0:48
Love Tavira,thanks 👍🏴
Hi ,I am a new subscriber,,want to buy a one way ticket to algarve portugal, Need a cheap throw away ticket, because I want to get a visa and live there full time, do you know what country I get get a throw away ticket to thank you very much great videos
We already have a lot immigration.. The local people who were born and raised in Tavira can't afford to rent or buy a place for themselves.. Do you think this is fair on your part??? Just thinking about saving money for your bank account?? I don't care if forgners use the excuse about improving the economy... Welcome turists is proper and respect them... After vacation please go back home.... Forgners are ruining our life style.. But all this abuse will stop...
You act like the same case isn't true in Canada, USA, France. Immigrants will always come and out price you. It's your job to work hard and get paid that money and out pace them.
I can't understand anyone travelling to Madeira and making a video about shopping malls.
Have you settled upon a location to live in yet?
Looks absolutely stunning,i retire next year, would love to retire here from the uk,could someone please say how difficult the process is for the D7 visa ?? & how to get started with it ??
Thanks for your insight, happy traveling to you, I can understand why you like Tavira, it's certainly a great city.

So beautiful!
Go to Porto!
Safe journey.
FOR 1 STUDENT ENTERING MEDICINE IN PORTUGAL ONLY ENTER WITH MAXIMUM GRADE, 19 OR 20 AND HAVE 5 OR 6 YEARS OF COURSE!
American expat here and I have been living in Italy for over 2 years now. Very nice scenery, lots of history. Unfortunately, inflation and the Ukraine situation has really destroyed the low cost of living. Utility prices have skyrocketed here as in much of Europe. Housing is difficult to obtain, and contracts are 3 years minimum. Expect increases by the landlords here at anytime. Not sure what Portugal is like but I hope you enjoy the time spent there.
Thanks for the input, we spent more than we thought we would, but we could have budgeted a TON better as well!
Good luck. How fun.
In case viewers might be thinking your experience might be a one off I too had a skin cancer and had a similarly positive experience in Portugal. I know Albufeira well but I live in Cascais , near Lisbon. I visited CUFF hospital in Cascais. Within a month I had made the appointment, had the consultation, been diagnosed, had surgery and had the stitches out. Now, if that sounds like I was on some kind of conveyor belt nothing could be further from the truth, it was an extremely efficient, personalised and friendly service with a great doctor. I paid about the same as you. Best wishes.
Thanks for the validation Steve, we appreciate the info!
Glad you had a good experience whilst in Portugal. But please, if you do decide to make Europe your new home, take the time and learn the local language. Please don't assume an air of arrogance and entitlement. We are learning Porterhouse now and not even moving to Portugal yet, my wife is about fluent as you can be as a foreigner and we get the best reception when we speak the local language. I sometimes switch between German and French when I struggle which throws them off a little. Worth the effort. Most younger Portuguese speak English, the older generations tend to shy away.
I bet almost all Portuguese ppl under 50 are fluent in English. My father had English from 6th grade until 10th grade and he can talk with some limitations.
@@arturjcrebelo3275 Not really the point, learning another language always helps you to become part of the culture where you are.
It's NOT the place that the Portuguese or long term residents like us are too proud of.It's reputation plummeted from 'party town' to disgusting debauched drunks pig pen..a few years ago when the 'worst' of those night club owners in the UK and Germany started to literally to fill planes with revellers to go on weekend pub crawls throughout the town. 'bombing it ' was the phrase Locals were subjected to naked men tied to lampposts with coke bottles up their behinds. naked girls wandering still drunk in the local supermarket the following day.etc.There were assaults on women and men.. Albufeira WAS a delightful fishing village where we had our first holiday in the Algarve 30 yrs ago.. You could safelytake your kids there..If partying with 17 yr olds is your thing..then risk it.. I f not steer clear..We don't live that far away, but would never go back...Its not the Algarve
Good call on that Jenny! We just had to see it ourselves!
hope you heal quickly
Keep up with the You Tube videos guys, I’m sure it’s going to grow because of your approach with not too much verbosity. Letting us enjoy the real-time and keeping it simple!!
Thanks Louise, we’re retired, so we DEFINITELY do not want a full time ever again, so we just want to do this for fun, bringing a “different look” to different countries.
Following your discovery adventure as you travel to places we are considering for our retirement. Thanks for sharing!
Voted best island in Europe 8 yrs in a row by world travel, there are a few utubers from the USA that have moved to Madeira “it’ll be fun “ another is “ moving abroad” “ track us down” are a few, hope u meet up with some that would be soo cool, it’s definitely our favourite place sooo spectacular in views, food, people and so much more, enjoy ur stay best wishes from 🇨🇦
That sounds expensive
We too are looking for a peaceful life in a beautiful country. Portugal! Too dangerous to live in the US.
We moved to Tavira Feb 2021 and couldn't be more pleased with our decision. Your very familiar images, as good as they are, you'd agree, don't adequately portray the calm enchantment of the place.
Lovely video. Obrigada ~ Must say, I reacted when you seemed surprised that ‘old ladies’ were walking down the street late at night… Everyone should feel save walking in their town at night. I know that isn’t true everywhere… I’m grateful I didn’t grow up fearing for my safety. Obviously we need to know how to protect ourselves but that ‘fear’, that would awful. Enjoy your travels! Maybe you’ll end up back in Portugal!
Moldávia is better
I am an English man living in Tavira for 38 year's ,now in my 80s best thing I ever did coming to Liv here. Love love love it
Hi Bill,Tavira looks stunning,I am due to retire from the UK next year,I will be 55 & been in the steelworks since I was 16,starting to look into Tavira as a retirement place, not looking for somewhere that is really touristy, but just chilled, what is the property rental like there ? Are there many expats ?? I,ve obviously got lots of questions, but would like to look at the lifestyle, cost etc, thanks.
Most of Europe is easier for medical
Right behind you!
It is wonderful to see you two starting out on your journey. Thanks for the shots inside grocery stores. You hear about the low prices all the time but seeing them...WOW!
Those were not exactly what we call a grocery store, those were supermarkets from major chains (Continente, Lidl, etc). A grocery store here is more like the neighbourhood small store that sells less "industrialised" and more locally sourced products. 🙂
We're just starting the same journey, which we're documenting on our channel. Can't wait to follow y'all through this process! Portugal, especially Algarve, is on our list of possible places for our forever home.
@Finding Our Eden, what is your channel?
@@leonahamlin3029 Clicking on our picture will take you to our channel. Thanks!
Tavira is an undiscovered gem on the Algarve. More mature tourists go there due to having less bars etc.
It's so sad to hear the concerns on safety by Americans. It's no 1 in every video. As Brits who have travelled the world Lived and worked within otherEU countries and now settled in happy retirement in Portugal,we can't conceive of ever feeling insecure, especially in your home country. Have happy travels
I like following you guys! Last year we took two months for Southern Italy and Poland. This spring it will be Portugal and Northern Italy. W and we realized e almost bought a place in Puglia, Italy. But the wife came down with Covid and we realized we needed a place with more English in case of emergency.
Hey, thanks John! We are definitely interested in Southern Italy and Poland!
love it!!! we are moving to Setubal next year !! hope everything goes super well for you !!!!
Great to see People from around the world enjoying my country. You should try the the island of Tavira where they have the camping park in one side the ocean beach and the other the river beach or as we call: praia fluvial, great for the outdoor lovers. Are you going to visit all Portugal?
We spent 8 weeks total in the Algarve.
what place are you in at 16:12 mins in the video? also im from Tavira been here 29 years :) would never give it up for anything maybe just for some bigger city place with more stuff to do great work keep up the videos :)
Hey Luke, thanks a TON for watching our journey. As you can tell, we are less than beginners on UA-cam, just thought it would be fun. I’m trying to get in the editing section, because at 16:12, that one photo might be from Ayamonte, I’ll correct it when I can! Thanks.
Tavira sucks in the Winter. Totally dead. I was there.
I agree, but it is better if you keep it a secret. I live here, and we don't need more traffic.
I get it, maybe we should see an area “less traveled” by UA-cam?
Great video and info, thank you!
I didn't much care for Tavira, to be honest. Too small for me, and lacking in interesting things to do (I couldn't even find a bookstore). Plus, if you are there in the summer it is way too hot and absolutely overrun with tourists. The beaches are nice, but that is basically it.
A question for you. Why are there so many people making such videos who have nothing to say, and are less than mediocre? Even the choice of music is naff and not appropriate.
A question for you. Why are there so many people who leave rude comments and have nothing constructive to say, for no reason? Who determines what music is “appropriate” ? I enjoyed the instrumental personally.
George Hill - was someone holding a gun to your head forcing you to watch. If after a few minutes I don’t see something interesting I click off and watch another channel. But then of course today everyone has an opinion yours has been noted THANK YOU.
Yah, we know, we suck!
THEY are doing it( and lets face it 'they' are 90% American ) because they think moving to another country is super brave. For them indoctrinated to believe America is THE only ( best)country in the world It is scary.being 'different' ' isn't encouraged back home. They seem like wide eyed children to me BLESS
you still have to get used to paying in cash, which is still preferred in many european countries
Totally agree, furthermore, might be nice to have the right change
American fast food 🤣🤣🤣 in Madeira
There three modern malls in Funchal.
