I have already increased the frequency of posting these videos due to this evident backlog. These videos are targeted for new players with a story that tells them, no matter if you do a VIP0, VIP4, or a higher VIP playthrough, you have a chance to set your goals and reach them. With that said, it may not be your interest to watch these videos as you may already know this, but it is mutual interest that more people play this game so that Ubisoft keeps it alive for longer.

If you saw some accounts, you'd be surprised. There are more people playing this game than you would think.

Most of the time, saving diamonds makes the most sense.

Actually, I came with an expectation that it'd be at least as balanced as Heroes Magic War - another variation of the same game. I invested about 2-3 months worth of time in it last year, played the Endless Inferno game mode etc. This game was significantly slower in pace according to my own experience, hence the critical review. One positive point on this game is the Castle screen and the different building. We just need a bit more variety to make a really good game. Maybe in another version.

Final Battle Angel's pair is Primal Titan. If you want to build separate teams, then sure.

Events tab - Soul Stones for awakening for SSR units. I'd not worry about it at all, not a priority due to commanders, champions, divine heralds. You'll eventually get a lot of quiet pearls and awakening shards for free, and you'll awaken your units anyway.

There is no shipyard anymore, mercenary camp replaced it. You can see it for a second after finishing Chapter 1 (tutorial) and the map gets activated. But that's just graphics. Shipyard is no more.

Later, the channel is still very small.

1. Weeks rotate, it depends when you join. 2. For dungeon and necro, you go for Septiena, gen3 and 3.5 are stronger than Sandro. VIP no idea, it depends on your preference. I got to 1st place as VIP0, VIP4, and VIP7 on three different accounts (latter one is my main account).

i have started a new account after not playing for over a year and think the game feels a lot more balanced between factions (could be just my point of view idk). I am able to reach and stay in the top 5 as a VIP0 and got lucky with a gen 3 Hero from the anniversary -event. So i think you still can chase the Meta but it seems like it's constantly changing and way better to go with the faction you like the most. But this may just be my personal point of view and not the truth.

@@NoobCakeBubu Hero is Josephine, you can get her for free. Final Battle Angel, Dragon Golem are defenders. Sun Crusader is your main attacker. Primal Titan and Sister are your ranged damage dealers (even though Sister is a caster). Judicator is your caster. Then you can consider separate options: 1. Arcane Archer + Arcane Eagle 2. Falconer + Light Dragon: Light Dragon is a disappointment, so it's tough. If you need more units, I'd use Naga as a placeholder until you get more units. By the time you get all these units, you'll have better options.

Saint key: altar press the right arrow. If it is not available, you need to level up. Quiet pearls: check Events tab "Quiet Pearl Exchange" from "Limited Time". If it is not available, level up until you get awakening.

Fire gate was missing, but makes sense. I even discarded the spell once thinking that imps just don't matter, but actually they do in an infinite chain of devil summonings.

It's a balance during live recording. I could record with Camtasia and have different tracks, but Camtasia would create a 10GB file per video. With this recording method, just the balance has to be established. This comes with experience.

Yes, in later videos, I used this, although sometimes if you want auto-combat with land on fire, you may want to equip more land on fire spells and nothing else.

Restart, take the lower reward, then try again. I'll upload a video possibly tomorrow that goes like this: I spent 40 minutes on one floor and almost beat it. Then I restarted it and beat all 3 floors in 12 minutes. Your time is worth more than 20-160 event currency.

Best tactics is buying Death Ripple as much as you can then going to boss with 2+ star hero and one 9-inferno unit like imps or dogs or gogs. Just cast death ripple untill boss die and repeat it on each floor.

My peak skill is at 2, soon it will be 3 too. 1 is not much different than 2, it's just graphically inferior

Good to know that you had fun with the game. Maybe the difference in perspectives is about variety. I played through a game called Heroes Magic War, where there was no castle upgrade element in the game, just the fights. Here I saw the same thing, but progress was artificially slowed down. In Era of Chaos, if you just play through the first day, you accomplish a lot more than in Era of Magic Wars in a week. Then I saw purchases, but those purchases just unlocked PvE content that Era of Chaos just offered for free. No guilds, no PvP element surfaced that would incentivize players to spend. Therefore, spending money became somewhat pointless too. Given the developers keep improving the game, this was constructive criticism to improve the game and find a better balance. Era of Chaos may have a weird idle fighting system, but balance is quite good when it comes to making players feel that they make progress. The next iteration of this game is already available by the way with another title, so I don't worry about new ideas.

Due to the nature of monetization or extent of grinding, most people will never find out what else will be unlocked. Yes, there are many similar games like this, most likely the same developers create many clones and experiment which one sticks with the audience.

I am sure you are a lot more experienced as I started a lot later.

The more experience I gather the more I am convinced that VIP0 ($0) investment is more than sufficient and it also gives you maximum game satisfaction. I compared a VIP0 run ($0 invested) and a VIP4 run ($30 invested), and I am enjoying the VIP0 more as it taught me how to fight. Spenders get carried away by spending diamonds like there is no tomorrow - meanwhile VIP0s learn how to save all those diamonds to spend them when they matter.

I have played 1-5 except Chronicles and Horn of the Abyss and extensions of 4. They are all coming.

Heroes 2-4 is coming, just slowly. Everyone views aging of games through a lense, myself included. Childhood experience is key. Personally, I've found King's bounty to be a lot worse in terms of aging than Heroes 1. My personal experience has been the best with Heroes 2, and you can see in the playthrough that many elements are already there in Heroes 1. I was positively surprised by the first episode despite the goofy animations. Heroes 3 was too big to me as a 16 year old, and Armageddon's Blade was too long. My more mature self will most likely appreciate it a lot more. Back in the days I was too young, I lost interest near the end of Armageddon's Blade, and Heroes 4 restored it. Sooner or later, all games will be revisited, including King's Bounty.

Agreed with the commet re goofy animations. The cartoonish graphics was part of the charm in HOMM 1 and 2, and the one thing I missed moving to HOMM3. HOMM1 had the worst balance though - on any larger map (ie mid-late game) knight and barbarian simply could not compete with sorceress or warlock once top tier units and spells are available. Balance was improved in 2nd game and almost perfected in the 3rd, until the introduction of heroes-as-units in 4th game ruined it . . .

With Castle, Barbarian you can capture another town that is preferably a Warlock. We can argue if it is a lot cheaper to recruit castle units, but calculating the total price vs income, it's not that big of an advantage in early game. Afterwards, we are doomed though.
