I finally finished this game on hard. It took me 41 hours (spread over 50 days). I can say it's doable without ever recruiting any mercenaries. The only misstep I had was I missed the optional stage Merchant's Friends. When I came back from a different mission, it was no longer available. So I lost some experience there. When you decide to resume the let's play, do notify me, as I'd still like to watch through. There's just nobody else that recorded the hard mode. After some time, I'll start Rage of Mages 2. I hear it's quite hard. Have you ever beaten the game on hard picking someone other than Danath? Maybe a mage?

A medium-hard stage. Killed both golems, too. Somehow it took you way longer to kill them than me. It's as if my party deals more damage. I didn't realize it's been 4 years that I sent you my initial messages. Seeing how nobody is interested in the game, I doubt you'll ever continue this playthrough, so I'll head onward and explore the game solo. I didn't level up Brian in archery, and the stage was still 100% beatable. I only used Danath as an archer.The Ogres behaved similarly to your game. If shot from far enough, they wouldn't retaliate. Good job on killing the goblins over a mountain range. I lured them to the ghosts. In the end, you can even kill the mage, but the loot isn't anything special.

I didnt' know all other animals would become hostile when I attacked the dragon so I had to back off and finish a swarm of squirrels. The four turtles were actually the toughest enemy. But it can be done with a party of three. Brian was idle during the dragon slaughter, but I see you used him, too. Again, it's Reniesta that does the significant damage between heals. I didn't kill Khima and his four peasants.

I didn't need mercenaries to clear the whole stage. The goblins at 3:30 can be beaten by attacking them from a glen at 10:00.

An easy one. The ogre is actually too strong to be killed. The main peasant carries a ring +1 defense. I couldn't get to the talk you had with Brian at the Inn before the mission. I wonder.

That was a challenging mission. I did it before Kadagan. The guy at 20:30 was super brutal. I followed your tactic of disposing of his two archers first. Even then, it was a narrow way to beating him. Maybe I should have been upgrading my skills in the town square more.

Yes. The ogre's demise is Reniesta. At the end, I turned evil and slaughtered the village. No loot, though.

I chose bronze shoulder plates instead of iron. I heard it's all about that absorption! I also bought a bronze helmet and only leveled each character's skill once.
