I find this speaker super hard to follow. I always appreciate the work that goes into these presentations but his saying "uh" and "um" every 3rd word is aggravating.

I am a Jew, and all these info, or facts, are so familiar to our people. As a member of the living church, I would say that, the Book of Mormon has everything needed to speak to the latter day Jew.

Very good presentation .... Though for some reason Bradley goes off on a slam against those who believe Joseph and that he did not practice the devilish doctrine of Polygamy. What he said, as he used the label of Polygamy "deniest" (hints of the holacost deniers), makes no sense what so ever. He is very much trying to keep a foot in the Establishment historian circle. Polygamy is Not of God, and no matter of rewriting history will change that.

In regards to Joseph not knowing he was going to lead the Mormon restoration.. I think after an education from heaven and angels.. he would be very able to read between the lines.. that he would be the key to starting the church.. and that he could see the writing on the wall.. that’s why god don’t use intellectuals they lean on their own understanding and opinions..

Former Roman Catholic - they NEVER preached the old testament - I went to a Catholic primary school and that's where I learned the old testament stories. The Jews were off limits - Apparently Jews know very little about Jesus and the new testament as well It was protestants who and the reformation that brought the 2 testaments together Leaving all the learning in the hands of scribes and pharisees - lawyers and accademics was never a good idea. 😊

I am not sure how Don the historian missed that Joseph was Je_wish through his mother. The Macks were Je_wish, see Solomon Mack. Did he actually miss that? His viewpoint of Joseph taints his understanding. Re runs down those that consider Joseph not a polygamist, or Hyrum. They only use concocted evidence from polygamists in Utah way after the fact. Yet Joseph and Hyrum were clear about it all their lives. D&C101, the anti polygamy section was removed after his death, the one on monogamy. Sec 132 was added at the same time. Here is what Hyrum said in General Conference in 1844 just 2 months before his demise. "almost every foolish man runs to me, to enquire if such and such things are true, and how many spiritual wives a man may have. I know nothing about it; what he might call a spiritual wife, I should not know anything about. In about half an hour after he has gone, another person begins to say: “the Elders tell such and such things all over the country.” I am authorized to tell you from henceforth, that any man who comes in and tells any such damn fool doctrine, to tell him to give up his license. None but a fool teaches such stuff; the devil himself is not such a fool, and every Elder who teaches such stuff ought to have his nose wrung; any one found guilty of such teaching will be published and his license will be taken from him. ...I wish the Elders of Israel to understand it is lawful for a man to marry a wife, but it is unlawful to have more, and God has not commanded any of you to have more; and if any of you dare to presume to do any such things, it will spoil your fun, for you will never have the spirit to preach the Gospel. I despise a man who teaches a pack of stuff that will disgrace himself so; for a man to go into the world, and talk of this spiritual wife system he is as empty as an open sepulchre." That quote of Hyrum in a talk just before his murder seals the deal for me. I don't want to stand with these fools!!! Pretty clear. No way to move the needle on that statement.

So what I’m gathering here is not a restoration of a church but rather a restoration of the house of Israel with a Book of Mormon focus on Old Testament covenant uniting the human family under the banner of Israel through Christ.

I look forward to reading Don's next thesis on this subject involving Jewish influences on Joseph Smith. I wonder what he makes of the strong implication of his citation of Mordecai Noah and his very similar rhetoric to that of Joseph Smith years later, perhaps being one of the primary sources for Joseph composing the Book of Mormon, rather than being its translator or transmitter? That's the first proximal 19th century source I've heard of that stands to be a plausible inspiration for the narrative in the Book of Mormon. I wonder where Mordecai himself is getting these ideas of a New Jerusalem, the Indigenous people being scattered Israelites and the gathering of Israel to the New World? Is he just imaginative, or is he drawing on deeper sources?

I love Don Bradley and his work. Yes, it is fascinating. This presentation is outstanding and brings much together for me about Joseph Smith and the Restoration and how it ties to ancient Israel and its gathering in the Last Days. I always supposed that Joseph Smith had detailed instructions handed to him from Moroni and then others on what to do and how to do it. No. He had to work his way through and learn what he was to do as the Restoration prophet, line upon line, precept upon precept. For example, I don't think he even realized at first that he was even to be the one to actually translate the Golden Plates. There are many more hints and evidence of his growing knowledge evolution about the Restoration. Something we can also apply in our own knowledge progression. Thank you, Don, for explaining it so well.

Hannah I have much evidence that proves Joseph Smith translated the Book of Abraham correctly. I have much evidence that the LDS temple rites are Judeo/ Christian and had before. (I was raised Roman Catholic and have studied the Early Christian rites) I am a Master Mason , a Mark Master Mason and a Royal Arch Master Mason and can answer questions. I study Hebrew Mystery topics ( sometimes called the Kabballah) and can prove much of the doctrine Joseph Smith restored in regards to the Creation and "Jacobs Ladder" i.e. "Ascensionism" is true. Thus it also supports concepts found in the Pearl of Great Price. When I have attempted to post said info on youtube sites I am deleted. I hope you can have a site which we can share scholarly information without being censored.
