In 2020 I moved to Oak Hill from the Chicagoland area. I ran my first half marathon in 2022. Currently contemplating running the New River Gorge 50k in December. Any tips?

Is it possible to ensure this pain without getting injured? When do you know that you should stop - I feel getting out at the other end without injury is the goal!? That us never been answered to me.

I hope most people will always remember (and tell their kids!) about the madness and absurdity of those years. Athletes able to run for 100 miles forced to wear a rag on their faces in order to not catch a flu. That goes against everything human and worth living. Respect to all the runners who finished the race

Nice work on the tapping job. I've no idea if that's the correct technique but like being in the bush and isolated, you'll give anything a go in the hope that it will improve a situation. Sometimes, the placebo effect can be enough. Good on you for being such supportive friends. Also big congrats to the folks who ran the event, huge effort went into it in challenging times. Well done.

20 minutes in and the race hasn’t started.

That's a great movie. Thanks for the inspiration. I loved every minute of it and it's also very motivating. I will run my first 60k in 3 months and then we see from there how far I can go.

East coast… 100 miles is insane and dangerous. West coast… ya I like to run the 100s mile with 200 and 250 miles all back to back to feel something and put myself in the dark place with god and nature.

Question was this on trail or was it on a pavement but I might be doing a hunter there this year but I want to be on trails I don’t wanna run that far and pavement. My knee won’t hold up. I don’t think if you get this thank you for commenting back.

One of the best ultra docs I've seen. Great story (for the racers and race directors), amazing footage, and editing. Eyeing the NRG Trifecta after watching this inspirational video!! Great work!

Such a brave effort from HollyAnne. With an injury niggle at that distance it will rear it's ugly head. I've experienced the same with an achilles niggle in a 24 hour trans Wales event (there were only 2 of us doing it). But I gave up with 15 miles to go as i didn't want John (or our pacer )to wait for me, and i was worried about the long term damage. Hopefully the medical advice she got was good. I did feel concerned that the support crews were encouraging her to keep going. Hopefully she will be fit and running again to do another event!

I would have been SO mad at my husband for not being at that aid station to finish out the race as a pacer! He had one job. ONE! And he was not there. My blood boiled for her a bit.

Really, really enjoyed this documentary. Captured everything nicely. What I didn't love was the sheer number of adverts I had to sit through. Not sure if that's a YT fault or something that's chosen by the channel.
