Is there no bear bins there? We camp a lot in mammoth lakes. With kids so I’m very strict on bear preparedness. Bears have 100 times better smell than humans. We store nothing at all in our tent with scent. Everything goes in the bear bin. Last year a big boy pushed our bear bin over. It took off when I hit the car alarm and hit it with a flash light. Leave nothing out.

    • @damco.1970

@SteelerLos so our understanding was that they had been fed all summer by campers, that the location started to slow down, and that food was not so easy to come by. They were used to people and became bolder when interacting. And yes, we used the bear box, just that stupid idiot that took us kept thowing food all over the campsite. So, it's not the bears fault at all.

@@damco.1970 the camp host are spose to keep bears afraid of humans. Them or the rangers are spose to come back with air pellet riffles and shoot at them. I seen them do it in mammoth lakes. One quick question do your side view mirrors stick out far enough so you can see straight down the side of the trailer ? Why I am I asking is if you can't see completely down the side I will be harder to back it in any situation even parallel parking it. So if the mirrors don't stick out pick up some extensions mirrors that hook on to your stock mirrors they will make it easier to see which way the trailer is turning. First time is always Stressful when backing and dealing with the other drivers on the road. Practice makes perfect Hombre.

So what’s up homeboy. Is it better than tent camping? We tent camp and I always say I don’t want to be pulling no trailer and the extra cost on gas. Then all the way there u wondering if u gonna be able to back it up in the spot. Chale, I’ll just pop a tent. 😂👍🏽

On the real, way better than tent camping at my age. You lose gas mileage, but you prepare for this inconvenience. But having your mini home behind you is 👌 perfect. You can cook in peace, sleep soundly, shit, shower, and have all the convinces of home literally in your trailer. We have been extensively looking, and we will end up buying in the new year. It's a lot of work, but as men/kings, we deserve the best. I work 10-12 hours a day and feel like I should have something nice for me and the wife. Thanks for the comment, I like the engagement. If the bears see anything related to food, even seeing them threw the car windows, they will try to get to it. I learned my lesson once because we left our food on the picknick table that was covered with our screen enclosed canopy. We got woke up to the noise or hearing the canopy being collapsed.

I don’t like the tent on top of the mattress, nylon to nylon of the sleeping bag gets uncomfortable for me, I always fit it inside with no problem. There are some add ons I have, a small hammock like that attaches to the cot keeping your clothes off the ground, in case of heavy rain water might run under making your clothes wet. Also there is a long pocket with dividers you can get that again attaches to the front of the cot where I keep a water bottle, phone, keys and toilet paper handy and dry. I love this cot/tent, is very comfortable and pretty roomy for what it is. Is done pretty good in 25+ mph winds too. Nice video and thanks.

You guys must've caught that tent on sale, it's currently $94...still seems like a decent price for a tent like this

I own this xxl cot / vista 1 tent and the vista 2 tent / 2 sports universal cots. Their game changers! Their easy setup and comfort make up for their cost. I still need to buy the elite rain fly for both. Thanks for vid.

Yes! Game changer. I'm a big guy and I fit with room to spare. Thanks for the comment.

I have the same set up. I just want to point out a few things that I noticed in the video. The rain fly that comes with the tent is for when you are setting the tent up on the ground. Because if it rains the rain will collect between the tent and the cot, which is be where your pad will be and become soaking wet. That is why you need/have the extended rain fly. And the extended rain rain fly can be used on the ground by reverse rolling the "extra" length and securing with the loop and barrel buttons. When you set up the tent you should lock the longest legs together and then pull the cord to setup the tent and then lock it. When you are putting the elite rain fly on look for the Teton logo . It lines up with the Teton logo on the tent. I really enjoy this tent. I don't know if I'm right but I put my head on the opposite end of the tent then the way you were. I also have the Zero Degrees XXL sleeping bag which is excellent in the cold weather. I hope that this helps you and others. I really hope that you like this setup. I like how fast you can break camp too
