A Hike to Make me Happy 🍃 | Garigal National Park, NSW | Hiking in Australia
I checked out some hiking trails close to home in the Garigal National Park 40 minutes north of Sydney, including the Cascades Trail and the Middle Harbour Creek Trail. These trails have some special memories, and I'd love to share them with you! I also chat a little about my ongoing health problem and give a bit of an update on all that...
Thanks for all the support so far, you guys all make my day :)

Hiking on the Coast of the Bouddi National Park | Central Coast, NSW | Hiking in Australia

I can't believe I've never done this walk before....this hike is something else. I hopped on a ferry at Palm Beach to Wagstaffe in the Central Coast of NSW to do the Bouddi Coastal Walk. The full thing is 8.5km, but as you’ll see…I didn’t quite get to the end! Hope you enjoy this hiking vlog as I wander along the beautiful coast 💕 This walk is about 90 minutes drive north of Sydney, NSW. #hike ...
Hiking a Haunted Trail in the Rain (Alone) | Narrabeen Lagoon Trail, Australia
Переглядів 328Місяць тому
Come with me in this hiking vlog to a beautiful trail next to an infamous road....the Wakehurst Parkway. Do I believe the stories? There is something creepy about sections of this trail, that's for sure.... Narrabeen Lagoon is hidden up north in Sydney's Northern Beaches. This 8.5km loop circumnavigates the Lagoon, and is very popular with runners and cyclists as it's completely flat. Don't let...

Join me over a weekend in a tiny house as I cook on a fire, do a little hiking, and chat about what makes this cabin so special! Matthew McConaughey used to be the creative director of Wild Turkey, and helped des...
Chasing the Sunset on a Solo Coastal Hike | Sydney Hiking Trails | Spit to Manly Walk, Australia
Переглядів 73Місяць тому
The Spit to Manly is one of Sydney's most beautiful walks, and shows off what this stunning city does best - its harbour. I did this iconic walk on a sunny day after a huge storm. I am essentially a local on this walk at this point, and I love it for its dramatic views and sense of remoteness, all while being only 30 minutes from the middle of Sydney. As a Northern Beaches local, I'll never sto...
Hiking in the Blue Mountains National Park | Fortress Ridge Trail

Katoomba is in Sydney's Blue Mountains National Park, 2 hours west of Sydney, Australia. Some of Australia's best hiking trails are here, down and around the huge valleys and sandstone rock faces. This was my first hike since my pulmonary embolism 9 weeks ago. A popular day hike, the Fortress Ridge Trail is worth exploring to see the huge drop offs and spectacular views. #hiking #mountains #out...

Six weeks ago, I discovered that I had a pulmonary embolism - blood clots in my lungs. I'm 28, fit and healthy - this isn't supposed to happen to people like me. overcoming this has been one of my biggest challenges, and i knew nothing about this until it was happening to me. young people like me can get blood clots too. dealing with something as life threatening as a blood clots in your lungs ...

Tiny Cabin (Unyoked) - Heike

a moody weekend in the mountains, hiding away in a tiny cabin //This escape was at Heike, 90 minutes north of Sydney, Australia. Hosted by Unyoked, Heike was one of their first tiny houses, hidden away in an atmospheric valley surrounded by lush hills and sweeping landscapes. I was lucky enough to capture some of the fog move over the mountains early in the morning, as well as some of the vista...

Out of curiosity, do they know where the blood clots originated?

Not 100% certain, but I was told the clots most likely formed in my legs

Chest pain and shortness of breath are huge red flags, this is why it's incredibly important to have taken a first aid class as you learn the symptoms of these life threatening conditions and can help others in case they show symptoms. That you went that long without seeking medical attention is scary, not that i'm trying to shame you because if you weren't aware of what these symptoms could be linked to then it's not easy to know. I hope you are feeling better and make a speedy recovery!

Thank you - you are right! I should have taken it more seriously earlier. I had no idea what a PE was before this - scary how little I knew, and how many people I've met since who have had this (yet symptoms are not common knowledge sadly). I'm so glad my doctor was on top of it. I'm trying to tell as many people of my symptoms as possible to hopefully make others aware so others don't make the same mistake I did.

Thank you - much better! It’s been about 4 months since everything and I am more or less back to normal. I have some partial explanations of what happened - I have one copy of the Factor V Leiden mutation - however this alone isn’t enough. Could have all been a perfect storm (sitting down more, dehydration, hormonal birth control), but I’m still in the long process of tests and scans to rule a lot out. I’m hoping to give a little bit of an update in my next video!

This is a nice, easy hike, but this place could be haunted, maybe. As a Muslim, we believe that jinn or ghosts are creatures of God made of smokeless fire, similar to how humans are made of clay. They are invisible to us but can appear in any form, whether human or animal. Jinn could be believers or non-believers, just like humans can be good or devil. The Quran mentions Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) reciting to a group of jinn. They heard his recitation, were moved by its message, and embraced Islam. Once, while staying in a remote mountain area with my friends, at 2:00 AM, someone knocked on our hotel room door. When we opened it, no one was there. We checked the security footage with the hotel manager, but despite knowing the exact time, there was no record of anyone at the door. My cousin's house has had strange experiences. One night, my aunt saw her daughter sitting on the sofa. She told her it was late and to go to sleep. The figure had staring eyes and didn't blink. When my aunt looked back moments later, her daughter was sleeping in bed, and the figure on the sofa had vanished.

I have been home from the hospital for about 3 weeks. I had PE in both lungs after a minor surgical procedure. I was interested to hear that you weren't sent home on oxygen. I will be on oxygen at least until I can get see a pulmonologist (I am in the US). The earliest appointment I could get is about 2 weeks from now. So I will be on oxygen for about 5 weeks at least. I am only using it at night and when walking. The blood thinners will be at least 3 months and possibly 6 months. My symptom was pain under my collarbone, which the nurse at my Drs. office dismissed (I inquired about it 4 different times on phone calls and visits). Thankfully, I finally went to the emergency room.

    • @mimiexplores
      @mimiexplores Місяць тому

Wow - I’m very sorry to hear your pain was dismissed. The pain I felt during this time was some of the worst in my life. I was very lucky to have a very proactive doctor, as I thought I had pneumonia and had never really heard of PE before (and I didn’t believe her when she told me the x-ray showed I didn’t have pneumonia). She’s amazing and I am so glad she pushed me to get tested. I wasn’t placed on oxygen - my oxygen levels were pretty good, which is why I’m guessing things went the way they did. I’m around 14 weeks post PE now - I’ll get some more answers soon but for the moment, I am feeling so much better. The first few weeks were the toughest, and I was frustrated I wasn’t recovering “linearly” if that makes sense - it was just slow. Lots of mental recovery too, it’s really tough all round. I’m wishing you a speedy recovery from here in Australia ❤️
