Hi Coach Shayna ma'am! Is this also for men? I am a man and tried this with my mother-in-law but it is very brutal. I could not even last 3 minutes when I just had to give up :( My MIL did the full lesson powerfully! She has the rock hard abs and rock hard obliques! I feel really very low and defeated :(
Yes, men can do this as well. Anytime you ever start a workout program, you always just do what you can and then build from there. It’s not about where you are compared to others. It’s about just starting somewhere and continuing to be a little better each day. Best of luck to you. 🤗
@@shayna_lee_ Thank you for your guidance, Coach Shayna ma'am! This is really, really hard training ! My MIL told me it is good for me to join her even if I can only last 2 minutes until I exhaust! She told me to see what abs of steel means and told me to do boxing to her abs. I did the boxing, but she didn't even even move but my hands started to hurt. Is this also good exercise for me to do boxing? I want to be a bit confident with some self-esteem in front of my MIL.
It’s all just about finding what you enjoy doing and sticking with it consistently. If it feels too intense to start and you aren’t enjoying it, find something you do. And the. You slowly build from there and before you know it, you’re accomplishing things you never thought. 💪🏼

Small tip, instead of dumbbells use a cable for the kickback to keep constant tension on the tricep! When using the dumbbells the tension goes away on the eccentric motion, the cable fixes that problem. Keep slaying!!
Thanks for the tip. I don’t have access to a cable machine, so this is the best I have when adding load. While also incorporating resistance bands for that tension.
@@shayna_lee_ if you can then, i would suggest trying skull crushers while lying on a bench to keep the load then

Pretty easy to not gain weight when your vacation involves walking 30,000 steps a day.
Oh I definitely didn’t take that many a day!! My best was 22,000 for one day. I think we averaged 13,000 maybe.
And what about the rest of the food on the plate?
Always had a clean plate! I don’t like to waste food. 🤪

It's not that it burns it off better - it doesn't. However, an increased amount of muscle present on your body will cause you to burn more calories at *REST.* So, if you increase the amount of muscle you have while maintaining calorie input, you'll lose fat. Lifting and HITT in general i believe has some positive effect on metabolim? I'm not certain about that last part though.
Yes, I agree with what you are saying. I’m just trying to simply the details to people to help them better understand concepts first. Especially speaking to those that use primarily only cardio as a means of weight loss. Try to advocate for the importance of strength training as well.

Working out is awesome but weightlifting doesn't actually burn many calories, so please don't skip cardio thinking you can shove crispy cremes down your throat and not get fat.
Haha! I agree. You need to make sure not to overeat on empty calories because too much is too much! Hopefully there’s broccoli in between crispy cremes… balance.
It depends how many hours of cardios. Walking fast or bike two hours is kind of equivalent to 1h of weight trainning in term of calories and it's easier to do everyday
Agreed you’d burn more calories, but if you’re looking at long term performance and sustainable results, one is going to benefit from incorporating both into a training program. Lots of cardio in the beginning might only yield short term results before hitting a plateau.
