And I don’t do reversals! 🥰 As you know I love my pip decks, and ALL Marseille decks are pip decks anyway!😊 Ooooh, I love the Lino-Marseille- it’d be a fun project to colour it! 🌈 🎨 I really love the shiny golden LoScarabeo TdM and yes, that Golden Wirth is another one I adore!✨🤩✨ I chuckled when you showed a sword card from Trionfi and said how that’s when pips push you away. I see the suits of cups and coins as those are warm and we keep them close, where the swords are sharp and cold and we stay away from them.. ⚔️ You totally should have told me you were going live for this video, Robin! Hi Robin, I am in the same predicament. I find the tarot community online out of reach as I do not create videos. I tried Instagram. I'm like the proverbial tree falling in the forest. I have a handful of tarot enthusiasts but not much interaction, which, like you, I'd like more of. Especially when it comes to tarot as a tool to know oneself better, to enjoy it from its artistic value and enjoyment. Have you thought about starting a Meetup? I have never done that myself but some folks have found Meetups successful in finding like minded individuals. Also, I am with you regarding some readers. I chuckle when they call themselves "professional". I am not sure one is ever a professional to read such an open ended tool as tarot. Also, yes, they sometimes get preachy for whatever reason, perhaps assuming themselves as an "advanced" practitioner or whatever. I am of the opinion that all talk is self talk so I am sure their experience will be infused in a reading for another. It's a complex and multilayered topic this tarot thing.. :) I appreciate your authenticity and pondering on such issues. Thank you

Thank you for the idea. I did see your note just as I was signing off and hadn't considered it before. It is a possibility but I don't have a great camera, other than my phone. I'd have to figure out a staging, and I think it might end up just looking like an art collectables deck of portraits. I prefer to see actions in my card images rather than images just staring out at you from the page. But, it's definitely something to think about.

Im so excited to get my set. Ive been doing cartomancy for 6 years and have started studying the poker card system. My first tarot reading was with poker cards and it predicted my husband when I was 15. It said I would marry a man who was fairly successful with money and he was an analytical figure. It also said he had fair hair or bald hair and he would be my benefactor. I though yeah right. Now I'm married to a man who's head of the IT department at glanbia the cheese company. And he's 22 years older than I am and have been happily married for 6 years now. I've always loved the poker sized cards and wish I would have had this deck since day one. It makes since that the knights are the jokers. Because the pages or knaves have always been the Jack's. Plus some games there are 4 jokers in the game that are used. The minor arcana were actually an addition to the 22 major arcana which were the origional European or Chinese tarot. The minor arcana is a representation of the calander and having the knights being 12 and the king representing 14 would throw off the calander count because the calander is suppose to be 364 days plus the joker making 365. I hope that provides some explanations of why they would have done that. Although I do wish like everyone else they would have changed the minor arcana suit as the majors don't have suits at all. I love that they put the numbers 1-22 because I've always had a hard time reading the Roman numeral associations because of my dyslexia. Thanks for sharing I can't wait to do my review.

Good Afternoon, Robin I’d like to start by saying that I have enjoyed your channel for a while, now. Particularly appreciated is your support of deck creators who were ‘canceled’ by boorish, neo-puritanical, fortune tellers. Cheers! You asked if anyone knew another deck that uses Rods. It just occurred to me that it’s the Hanson-Roberts. Not only does it use Rods for Wands, she used iris flowers to represent them! Off the top of my head, the three of Cups is also similar. I never use the Hanson-Roberts, although the size is perfect imo. I’m going to rewatch this and compare them when I get a minute. The font on Temperance, the one compared to Death on the Nile, looks like one named ‘Papyrus’. It’s really pretty. I’m actually thinking about having business cards printed w it. I’m not a banker, so… lol. Anyhoo, the review was really enjoyable. TU for the fun time. - L. Phillips

I resonate so much with everything you've said here, thank you for this video. Wouldn't it be amazing to have a local cafe where you can drop in and find like-minded souls interested in all things esoteric and philosophical? I'm on the other side of the country from you, but you've given me an idea. I'm also a member of the lgbtq+ community and I'm wondering if offering free readings at a local gay and lesbian center would work to connect you with others? It's tough though because you'd be more likely to run into folks looking for answers from you rather than looking to learn how tarot can help them. Maybe a small tarot talk at the center rather than reaadings? I'm with you a hundred percent on the Jungian take on the tarot. These archetypes resonate with us on a level we can find hard to connect with and the tarot helps reach that place. I'll stop, but thanks again. I will send up good thoughts you find a like-minded group to connect with in your area. ♥

17:50 - Don’t give yourself a label, Robin! You are just you. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that tarot is like a big buffet, you take what you want and leave what you don’t. I think tarot provides something for everyone. I tend not to watch card readings either, as I feel like a voyeur. That said, on the rare occasion (and it has happened just recently) where somebody offers to give me a reading, I usually say yes. This is mainly because I love to see other peoples perspective on the week or month ahead (as I usually opt for those kinds), compared with my own readings. Very interesting topic, you’ve broached, Robin.

I don't know if you're being contentious. I can see where you're coming from. Have you tried looking at your local metaphysical books spots for some kind of club or group? It seems like the city would be filled with people who meet your criteria. I live in a tiny city, very agricultural and conservative... but my little bookstores are pretty cool. Yes, mostly women, but the occasional guy or three. I like a good t-shirt. It does kind-of advertise what you like, and it can be a great conversation starter. It seems to me, that there's more and more people on-line doing their Tarot thing, so we have choices. I find myself enjoying the fun of tarot tags... and every once in a while doing some reading. .. mostly as a; you show me yours, I will show you mine, exercise. I have not made a lot of money with my practice, but when reading at a fair, or a party, I tend to put my fortune teller hat on. It is what is expected. I do try to give sound advice, and not break into unhealthy or harmful directions... but some people want that, and it does come up. Otherwise, it gets a bit boring and samey. That might be what you are seeing in said reading channels. 😅

I don’t see any controversy here, Robin, I think there is (or should be) room for many perspectives and approaches to how tarot can be used. I almost exclusively read for myself but I will read for people I know if they ask me, and sometimes I long for more opportunities to read for others-not for money, but sometimes I feel like there is only so much personal reflection I can handle in a useful way and I’d like to be able to use my decks more and help other people in some way. (I don’t want to start a channel though because I would find that too demanding/overwhelming.) I hope you are able to find the group of like-minded individuals you’re looking for. Maybe you could be the one to start a group in your area? When I lived in the US my local library had a tarot person come and give an intro to tarot talk a few times, maybe you could ask your local library if they would be interested or if they would let you put up a flyer on their bulletin board about starting a group?

I pick a friend, a family member or really, anyone, and throw cards and I am amazed at how easy it is to read for others rather than myself. Always makes me feel like I do get this and I have improved my skills over the years. I have never actually sat across from someone and read for them. Not really sure I ever will. I also approach tarot more from the conceptual blending aspect (aka how Vincent Pitisci (RIP) talks about tarot) rather than from the spiritual side. Also, if there are woman out there interested in talking tarot with you I would take them up on it. It's about opening up to others to talk tarot in your real life community... and those groups have a way of expanding into an ever wider circle of people and connections, once you find each other. A group of gay male tarot students may be just around the corner. Thanks again. I always get something new and interesting from your videos.

It’s true that the back design is not a deal breaker for me, but oh my, I find it SO jarring when a deck I really like has backs that don’t suit the fronts in some way (color, design, having the name of the deck printed on them). 🙂 FYI: If you can find it, the French version of the Golden Botticelli Tarot published by Editions Intuitive is only in French, so at least you don’t have all the multiple languages crammed onto the border. Happy Channelversary, Robin! 🎉🎉🎉 Sorry I couldn’t make the livestream. I have the full-size, Dutch language version of this deck and I really like it. I’ll have to think about getting the pocket version.

Thanks Donna. I considered asking you to come on with me as a guest, but I didn't know how to get in touch with you.

I have only just watched this Robin, one I missed for some reason. I like this deck and am thinking of getting it myself more for the historical value like yourself 🥰

I'm sorry. As this video was shot 3 years ago, I don't know if that deck is still available anywhere. You can keep an eye on Ebay listings.
