Great episode
This has been fantastic to listen to, there are so many discussion points on this episode, thank you guys!
35:48 i don't live near a rez so my 2¢ isn't worth much but it seems to me regardless of our ancestry, ppl _love_ telling other ppl what to do and how to do it even when money* or conflicts of interest are involved. Best wishes in this matter. * Not implying the council is corrupt, just using the limit case for comparison.
Thanks for having me on! It was a treat to sit down with such a good friend.
Looking forward to IROC. Excellent podcast. Thank you Dallas. Chuu!
Our Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe in Washington State totally agree with the concept of using Aquaculture with natural species of salmon to provide jobs and revenue for the Tribes and First Nations needs to address community services & programs. Unfortunately, even though our Federal and State agencies with the environmental expertise agree it is a viable option for Indigenous communities, we have a group of nay-sayers who think it is bad for the environment and our economy. We are disappointed in the misperception of the industry, but not discouraged. We intend on following the lead of these kinds of visionary leaders. Great discussion and need more to educate the un-educated. We have partnered with Cooke Seafood out of the Nova Scotia territory who have successfully worked with the Micmac First Nations. W.
