An 18th Century Pocket with a Twist and a Pocket Made for Me!
Hello, there, Friends!
It has been a long time since I posted a video, and boy, have I missed creating and interacting with all of you!
I’ve posted a “life update” in the community tab if you’re interested in reading about what’s been happening over the past year. For now, I am happy to (finally) bring you my contribution to the 2021 CosTube Pocket Swap Project!
#pocketswap2021 is a collaboration of costumers who love pockets! Join us as we share our love of 18th-century pockets, utility pockets, and unique designs using fabrics, trims, and techniques personal to each of us.
This video includes the process I followed to create an 18th Century tie-on pocket with a special twist, and I share opening the pocket made especially for me by @TheWelshViking .

Fly Away With Me || Making Tinkerbell's Wings
Переглядів 4013 роки тому
It's time to fly! Actually, Tinkerbell's wings weren't a complete success, so we can probably just taxi the runway instead of actually flying. Welcome back to the 18th Century Tinkerbell Project! Today, we are making the wings. While the idea and construction was sound, the physics was lacking. The wings do need a bit of re-work and repair, but they functioned perfectly for the photoshoot. Welcome back to the 18th Century Tinkerbell Project! Today’s video is going to show you the process I followed to create Tinkerbell’s shoes. I Made a Petticoat for Tinkerbell || So Many Mistakes!

Welcome back to the 18th Century Tinkerbell Project! I generally find the construction of 18th Century petticoats to be pretty easy. So, I got cocky and just went straight into making this petticoat without thin...

I want to make something very similar and copy your idea of a secondary pocket. I am not perfectly clear on how you used the bias tape around the 3 layers... You could wrap it around all the layers down one side and up part of the other to the edge of the pocket. I didn't see any bunching or anything at the corner. It looked as if there was one piece of bias tape around the first 2 layers, and a second piece of bias tape around the back layer. I am not clear on how they were separated or overlapping along the bottom edge and the opposite side. (?) How exactly did you fit things together at the corner where the extra pocket opening was? Were you using a different strip of fabric to cover the edges of the back peice (around the entire edge), separate from the tape around the front 2 layers, or did you connect all 3 layers in one strip of bias tape along the bottom? Was there a seam Where the 2 came together that I didn't see? I might use loops of bias tape over the top as a pair of belt loops. I'm not sure how to get everything to fit together and be really secure.

❤ I know that irredesent fabric can be a pain to "sear off edge" - tip use an adjustable heat wood burning tool to cut out and will sear edges without damaging fabric - it works with "cutting out" standing embroidery on tulle too for applique
