@@minortinkering Wow, I had no idea they were built that early. She is in stunning condition for her age. If you rebuilt her, you did an astoundingly good job.

Production started in 1948, my one is not very original but looks it. Lots of things have been done with her over the years. I have done quite a bit with her including repainting.

So authentic even down tot the rattling timing chain !

@@minortinkering Hi I cleaned and changed the oil in dash pot. So far he been running great. He definitely looks better on camera 👍. But do need a good tidy up.

Hi That’s exactly the same by the sounds of it ,very sporadic, I will get to the bottom of it soon. It’s not a huge problem but it is very odd !!! Love spending time out with the old girl, she doesn’t get as much use as George does but still a reasonable amount 😊👍

You need to get one Aust , none of that congestion charge nonsense or ulez, no tax, cheap insurance and no MOT. If that’s not enough to convince you, you’ll look cool as hell too 🤣👍

She does Phil Her partner has 2 or 3 Datsuns also, they both love early Japanese stuff.

@@minortinkering the Nissan K10 is pretty rare, but a Datsun!!!! Wasn't the early versions called the March? Or least in Japan

@@itsmephil2255only in Japan, I remember our factory manuals saying Micra /March but they were always badged as a Micra for our market. Must show you my Datsun model brochure that Endija gave me. Another video perhaps ???

Hi Yes she is only a single carb but she seems to go well, just need a lower ratio diff to stop her screaming out at 55 !

🤣🤣🤣 it’s now gone, drove to the top of the road on the last outing and when I put the indicators on smoke came out of the buzzer/wiring so I very quickly pulled it out. I now indicate in peace

I was going to try and get there but was a bit tight on time and didn’t want to push my luck too far. I have got an idea for a meet up and have messaged Karlos hope we can make something happen 😊👍

It was certainly a good reliability test for Dorris, she did so well

Hi Andy The buzzer is being toned down a bit 🤣🤣. I’ve been away for the week and have been so busy since being back. Went out in Dorris today to blow off the cobwebs, couple of shows coming up soon 😊👍

It certainly is a lovely dash in the early ones and it’s cleaned up well

If you move the driveshaft completely from the transmission the fluid will come out. Manual transmission oil is completely different to Automatic transmission oil. If you are replacing an out driveshaft joint or gaiter as in this video then the driveshaft doesn’t need to be removed from the transmission

Hi ,Yes the steering wheel was heavily cracked so I have filled it primed and painted with textured paint and then repainted Satin black !

Yes jet black cellulose, it’s real good quality paint. Very pleased with it .

Can’t wait to see the Austpod !!! I didn’t end up using the bumper in the end. I have a genuine Morris one now to fit on. The custom one is in the roof space of the garage and may be used in the future

She is solid, no rust at all ! I think the previous owner had replaced all the floor pans and centre cross member. Inner wings sills and all the usual areas are excellent
