Not a snapper. Its a musk turtle and far from a baby.

Looks to be a female from the shape of the plastron (upper shell). It's likely she's looking for a spot to lay her eggs, that time of year.

For anyone who encounters a snapper like this and wants to be able to handle it to move for some reason, letting the turt strike the bottom of your shoe, like at :50, is the way to educate the creature to some restraint with the snapping reflex - they do learn quite quickly. It may still be a challenge but you don't want a bite as salmonella is a high likelihood of infecting you. I've handled dozens of these remarkable creatures and have had some located to my home after being taken from a bridge construction site where they were in harm's way. They become docile and quite interactive with face recognition and ability to adapt to a temporary sanctuary.

I wish I could see a soft-shelled turtle in person, but I live in Brazil and there are no native species of Trionychidae in South America. Really interesting animals! Nice capture!
