20 years ago, two brothers set off on an adventure that went from bad to worse. If it could go wrong, it did. 2 bikes stolen, 2 vehicles dead and left behind. 3 days straight on a greyhound back to the states. The thing with adventures, though, is that you can still have fun when everything goes wrong. We made it to British Columbia. We rode epic Montana single track. We camped in the middle of...

This was the first trail we rode on Teton Pass, and it quickly became one of our favorites. We rode it two more times in the next day and a half! This is the full length version, so there is a fair amount of climbing at the beginning. Skip ahead a few minutes to find the fast, flowy downhill singletrack if that's what you're here for!
Teton Pass | Wilson, WY // Phillip's Ridge

This is the extended cut of our Sunday morning ride on Phillip's Ridge trail during our WyBROming 2020 trip. This trail is AMAZING!!! We kept saying to each other, "I don't want it to end!" I apologize for the crazy wind noise (especially on top of the ridge). Still trying to figure out the best way to record MTB footage with optimal sound.

This was day 1 of our 3 day WyBROming mountain biking adventure. We rode 30 miles of lift accessed downhill single track from 10am to 5pm and LOVED every second of it (even the crash)! The wind noise is pretty bad. I'm still figuring out all of the settings on the new GoPro Hero7 Black.

    Round trip how long was this...... More importantly how was that decent below tree line. I have to know

    • @fiveshaffers
      @fiveshaffers 9 місяців тому

      Total elapsed time of the hike was just shy of 7 hours. However, our actual moving time was around 4 hours. Some of that may have been gps inaccuracy because of how slow we were moving. The decent was difficult below treeline. The steepest section with all the ice was almost impassible without a rope. Checkout my Strava upload for more detailed info: strava.app.link/FyapgQvobHb

    Yo you cats really nailed a mint day man wow. Probably best winter ascent video of the big boy I’ve seen. The forest was snow covered, it wasn’t arctic cold, blue sky and low fog what an affect. Looked Alps like great footage.

    Dude, this video just popped up on my feed, I was thinking, “I know that guy.” Forgot what your channel was named. I was just telling someone about the first time we met. You rolled up in that yellow Volvo with the rack on top, wearing a Rocky Mountain jersey, camo shorts, and a cowboy hat. I was thinking,” who am I about to go ride with.” Glad I did!

    Was the dirt track around the Behrend area part of the "Bayfront Bikeway'? And do the trails start at the Junker Center parking lot?

    • @68rockcrawler
      @68rockcrawler 3 роки тому

      You could probably get to the trails from the junker center lot, but easiest access is from the Prischak lot or bottom of cooper road.

    • @fiveshaffers
      @fiveshaffers 3 роки тому

      UltraTrailSteven the first 8 miles of the Laurel Ultra are pretty brutal. They have been affectionately named “the hateful eight” by the local ultra running community. On the bright side, you get most of the elevation gain out of the way early on in this race!

      We found it this past Sunday. Not hard to find, really. Wouldnt drink from it unless I had a LifeStraw or something similar. It is right where you come off the road downhill and just over the hill from the little parking area there, to the east. Little rock stack there to mark it.

    Thanks for the great description. I just found out about this trail and I'm interested in riding it. Been doing some homework on this so this definitely helps. I've ridden around Canaan on about five separate trips but missed this one. I do have a question and I think it's obvious, do you have to set up your own shuttle? Do you know if there is anything set up locally where you can have someone shuttle you? As opposed to driving two cars from Ohio to WV. I'm guessing you might have got ahold of this local guy ahead of time on a mtb site or something? Great video btw! Thanks!

    • @fiveshaffers
      @fiveshaffers 7 років тому

      Thanks for watching! You do have to set a shuttle to ride the whole thing. I believe one of the climbing guides in Seneca was willing run a shuttle, but I don't remember how much they charge. And there was a bike shop in Harrisonburg, VA that actually runs a shuttle fairly often but it will cost you (can't remember the shop name offhand). Sorry I couldn't be more help. You will love the trail if you get a chance to ride it!

      My advice is ride it from the South end to the road and down to the parking lot on the back roads. The 2nd half of the trail is horrible and mostly unrideable. So many trees down...so many rocks....it sucks. Will never ride it again. Great hiking trail, but not much fun biking that 2nd half. Just my opinion. And that 3 mile downhill people talk about....not really a thing. Some parts rideable...most not.
