Indeed. And that both of them turn each other down sexually, at certain points is a key point of the movie - the writer/director didn't make a mistake on putting their ages this way. It's one of the reasons the film is so compelling to watch, and makes it different. There's also a body of thought that their relationship will fizzle out after the end of the movie, and we're shown this - watch the director's use of imagery like 'Live and Let Die' at the cinema scene at the end, and the song 'Tomorrow Will Not be Your Day' in the background as they walk off into the sunset (not a sunrise), for instance. They both needed each other, in a certain fashion for a time. That period is what the movie shows - and it challenges us with two people off very different ages and gender being crucial to one another.
He’s 15 at the beginning of the story, and she’s 25. I do think it’s mentioned at some point that she’s now 28, which would make him 18, and a legal adult. I understand the point you’re making. But we’ve certainly seen movies, TV shows, and, of course, real life relationships in which someone, often a man, dates someone 10 years (or more) their junior. I see nothing unseemly in Alanna and Cooper’s love story, which is, despite their feelings for each other, rather chaste until the climax of the film.
