Hey, Thanks for reaching out! The Plasma v2 2050 will definitely be easier to learn on. Many of our team riders actually still prefer the 2050 over the 1600 because it's much easier and you can pump for longer. However, if you're looking for speed, the 1600 will be faster than the 2050 due to the shorter wingspan of the 1600.

Hi Jon, thanks for reaching out! Zane is using the Plasma v1 1000 in this video. However, the updated AK Plasma v2 is a big improvement for pumping, and we would recommend a bigger foil than 1000 if you're learning to pump.

If you are using it in the surf or with a supplementary power source to help you get onto foil, then the 1350 Plasma will be ideal. Hi Jon, thanks for reaching out! Having longer legs is almost like having bigger springs attached to your body, and a big spring will jump higher than a small spring. For that reason, we would say longer legs would help. Also, if the foils very low in the water, it won't be very efficient, and to get the foil higher in the water column with a long mast will be easier for someone with longer legs because they'll be able to do one big pump and the foil will be right where you want it.

@@AKDurableSupplyCo In generating speed in pumping, is having a longer legs will benefit than the shorter legs?

Hi@@Jonpilo-uz1yf, longer legs will definitely help to get the foil in the right part of the water column if your foil is very deep in the water as you'll be able to do a bigger pump with longer legs. However, there are some exceptionally good foilers with short legs, so don't be discouraged if you don't have long legs.

Hi @sbs7396, Thanks for reaching out! The Tracer 800 is a higher speed wing than the Plasma 880. With the shorter wingspan of medium aspect foils such as the Tracer, these are build for speed, whereas a high aspect foil like the Plasma is unmatched with glide. For high speed, we recommend the Arc down 160 or 180 Stabilizer.

Hey @KiteFoilFlyer, thanks for reaching out! The preferred foil by our kitefoil team is the Tracer v3 650 with a 98cm mast. The Tracer 800 is also really good for kitefoiling, but for stronger winds, the 650 is the way to go.

Hey @tsoltysiak, thanks for reaching out! The anti-twist for the center of the V strap is only needed if you're using it with a single screw. Because the board has double inserts, two screws are used for the center of the V strap, and no anti-twist is necessary as the two screws will keep the strap from twisting. Hey Simon, we have just released the Nomad v2 today! The Active Carbon version is definitely suitable for beginners, whereas the Carbon Plus version is for the more experienced rider due to its reduced width.

Hey Ron, thanks for reaching out. Most of the shops should have already received stock of the new Monocoque stabilizers. These will be up on our website in the next couple days. The Monocoque is currently only available in a 200 tail with 31.5cm fuselage.

@@AKDurableSupplyCo Hi there people at AK! Another question on that monocoque stabelizer: I suppose that now the whole construction is "monocoque" the angle of the stablizer is no longer trimmable. At what angle have you fixed it? How does that compare with the trimmable angles of the 'old' solution of alu fuse + G10 stab. (What range of angles does that one have anyway?) Love to hear from you!

Hi@@RonKolijn, the Monocoque has a 1 degree angle of attack, so it's basically like trimming the stabilizer slightly back.

Hi @RonKolijn, thanks for reaching out! Mast positioning and stabilizer trimming is usually more personal preference. The general rule, the more forward the mast, the more lift, and when the fuselage is trimmed all the way back, the more lift. The Tracer performs really well in the surf! When you're on the wave and the diving has disappeared, have you noticed if you're still standing in the exact same position or have you possibly shifted your positioning on the board that may have taken the diving feeling away?

@@AKDurableSupplyCo I stand same position, just let go my rear hand of the wing handle when riding the wave For now I'll try putting the stabiliser all the way back on the fuselage, before my next session

Hey, thanks for reaching out. We are releasing a Tracer Overview video at the start of next month. Being a high-aspect foil, the smaller size Plasmas will have more glide than the Tracer, but this is at the expense of speed and manoeuvrability. Personally, I've been riding the 880 Plasma for the last couple months, and I've found that it has lots of glide and good efficiency when pumping, and because the Plasma 880 still has a wingspan similar to the Tracer 1030, it still turns exceptionally great.
