Bruce Canepa at Pikes Peak 2001
Bruce set the course record for 2000 and 2001 in the CFI Kenworth tandem axle big rig. As a finale in 2002 Bruce drove the 7-ton race truck up to the 14,110-foot summit in 13 minute 57 seconds, a record that still stands today.

Ride along with Bruce Canepa as he pilots his Porsche 917 to a first place finish in the race for FIA Manufacturers Championship Cars (1964 - 1969) at the 2010 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
Bruce, thank you so much for sharing your stories with us today about this and your many other memories. Thanks for keeping your doors open and inspiring us.. I'll never forget the tour 10 years ago. Thanks for all your work bringing in the 959 and even driving some of your toys on hwy17 on CA roads... So much inspiration in so many ways.

Dose anyone Know if there are any videos on the original Red Racer when Glen Brown drove it up. I only saw it one time when I was going through orientation.
Bruce, I remember the first time I heard you coming up. I was walking to engineers corner from picnic grounds and heard a strange sound. The first thing I remember seeing was the to of the cab cresting over the road. I had no idea what to think, but it was Awesome! I am still trying to gather (sorting 20 years of Pikes Peak stuff) all the videos and pictures I have for you. :)
I remember getting the complete engine in shop, taking it part and building it for this truck. Dyno run was around 969 hp at the wheels.
I worked on this truck in Santa Cruz before this race

In 1970,it won every race it entered. It came to be called "the steamroller from zufenhausen". The 908-3's won the other two,The migli milia,& the targa florio. World class ass kicker. Period. Straight up,no chaser.

Hey Mr race car driver. You put one hell-of-a smile on my face. 917s are the best. Ive never heard one start up in front of my eyes but I did get to touch no.20 from the great 'LeMans' film at Goodwood. Can I have a passenger ride? Pleeeease!
