We had Silver Lake all to ourselves!
Matthew and Drake spent a few days in Mears MI, playing on the dunes and exploring the trails in the area. We were also visited by Jason, who took his Tacoma offroad for the first time! Since we were there in the middle of the week, the dunes were practically empty which made for a great time.

Thanks to my brother Christopher for doing a lot of the filming in this video. In June 2022, the Two Trackers Four Wheel Drive Club visited Drummond Island. This video is a compilation of clips from the run on Saturday the 11th. Weather was fair, with minimal bugs. Sights seen in this video include Marble Head and Shale Beach.
4Runner vs. Jeep Wrangler! Off-Camber Washout Climb
Переглядів 3,2 тис.2 роки тому
As the trail leader, I attempted to go up the main trail in my 4Runner. After trying to get up the obstacle a few times, I decided to take a tow strap to avoid damage to the trail or the vehicle. Most of the rest of the group took the bypass. Ordinarily taking the bypass is NOT the preferred option, as this results in excessive trail damage (Tread Lightly!), however in this case we felt that dr...

Total Inflation Time (9 psi to 32.5 psi): 8 minutes A simple video testing the capabilities of the Ryobi One Power Inflator as an alternative to a traditional 12V compressor for airing up tires after offroad driving. Overall this product will work, however it will use a lot of battery (I expect about 5 Ah to do all 4 tires from 10 psi) and will take a long time (about 32 minutes for all 4 tires...

Kees in his 05 Forester and Matthew in his 03 4Runner ventured out for a quick afternoon trail ride at Yankee Springs. This slowed us down so we couldn't cover all the trails we usually do, but there was more than enough fun to be had for all! Follow Kees on Instagram! @darkgreenfozzy ins...

    I followed the steps in this video exactly and after flipping the switch back off my VSC & Track lights remain on. Any ideas as to why my vehicle makes me turn key off and then back on to get the lights to shut off and VSC & TRAC to reengage? I thought this method was supposed to make it so that wasn't required?

      I don't think they reply to comments on here which is weird because the entire family helped on this. But I will. I got lucky looking for a gas tank strap at a junk yard and it took me a minute before it dawned on me that the frame was brand new just about. Its like my brain took a crap and I didn't know what to do I was so excited and the engine and control arms were already stripped so all's I had to do was take off the gas tank and rear end and 8 body mount bolts and got the frame for $253 which they tried to get me for 473 but I had to argue with the guy but he wouldn't budge but thank God my nephew with the flatbed truck knew the owner and called him directly and come to find out it was the owner who gave me the price of $253 so I got it for 253. I've been sitting on it though for 6 months now and I want to know what problems these guys had to where they had to remove the engine because I'm not doing that. It's possible but I don't want to be stuck here trying to figure it out because isn't that the point of this video to help others or is it just click bait for views. It seems that way because they don't reply to any comments.

    So i have a 08 4 runner. my aux port hasn't been working so i decided to take it apart and look. my aux port doesnt go to anything. its just the wire that's connected to the aux port. i didn't see any other wires connectors that would fit it. does the aux wire harness's come from the back or the front? im really confused on why that's not hooked up and where the rest of the wiring is.

    Land erosion is going to be the downfall of offroading in Michigan... Michigan's northern half is almost entirely made up of sand blown in off the Great Lakes over the centuries. When the Tree Huggers realize the damage done by 4x4's to the landscape the end of 4wheeling in Public Lands and Forests will come to quick end. Heavy rains on 4x4 wheel ditches only will increase the damage each year. There will not be an end to the erosion once started by wheeling.

      After sanding down the rusty spots and wire wheeling the whole thing, I just cleaned with denatured alcohol. Painted with Rustoleum flat black enamel paint, which has held up very well to 3 Michigan winters so far! This year I'm going to touch up some spots and coat the whole thing in Fluid Film before they salt the roads.

    • @rustbeltwrenchers1310
      @rustbeltwrenchers1310 2 роки тому

      The best way I've found is to join a local 4WD club. Try to find one that follows Treat Lightly principles so you don't ever end up in legal trouble going where you shouldn't. From there, you'll be able to tag along on trail rides led by other members to learn about cool spots. The other options is to look for ORV maps put out by your state. Michigan has ORV Trails for ATV's and dirtbikes, but they also have ORV Routes for full size licensed vehicles. There's usually lots of cooler two-tracks near the routes to explore. Also, Forest Service roads are public access and some of those can be pretty cool too.

      Center diff lock doesn't do anything for the the axles to lock left wheel to the right wheel. Plus 4Runner doesn't have e a center diff lock button it just does automatically. You're think of the Land Cruiser. But it still wouldn't lock the axles left to right.
