As a South Italian i never watched if female Dancers "point their Toes". Tarantella is Not about perfection or Skills

Dancing in Southern Italy is Fun, not a Competition

It might not be the choreographer who didn't teach them well but some kids even if you teach them they don't get in the movements or style, I am a choreographer and a former Teacher of grade 1 but when I Taught them dance, not all were performing well, it depends with a child. Dancing is a God gift thing. I understand what you mean by pointing the toes, Yes it's supposed to be danced like that but my kids were dancing like these ones lol!
