I was inspired to take a closer look and listen of the kalimba since I'm reading the autobiography of Earth, Wind, and Fire founder Maurice White. I have played piano and am currently taking banjo lessons so I don't want to put too much on my plate for the time being. I may reconsider more seriously sometime in the future.

So why aren’t the notes going low to high from left to right? Can’t you simply put the longer bars on the left and the shorter to the right, so it goes up in tone?
