I love these style of vids. You can tell the pretentious guys from the informative ones. It’s like a skewed documentary. They’ll show the worst clone in an attempt to convince people all fakes are garbage. Usually to justify their insane stupid $11,000 purchase. For a few hundred, a lot of fakes keep better time and 99% of watch retailers must open the back to tell the difference.

when your'e taking apart the disposable, make sure you take care not to touch the capacitor on the board for the flash, it can retain enough power to literally kill you (for real!). Gonna try this though, others have raised the lens up with putty to try and get longer/infinity focus.

There's a UA-camr named Mathieu Stern (from Belgium, I think) who hacks all kinds of lens and makes, when necessary, his own helicoids w/3D printing. Maybe he can help you turn your "macro" into a normal range focusing unit for little cost. You'd have a full range of interesting images of more *distant* objects... ;-)>

The fumes from superglue drying can easily fog plastic and even glass, so it's best avoided for a project like this.

There are a lot of good replica watches around. I personally don’t mind a replica. I have some low end tag heuer watches (around the 1000-1500£ price point) but anything more than that I really can’t justify. I’m very heavy handed and I’m always cracking my watches off of things so I’m always cautious about putting 5k on my wrist. Not too mention, crime. If you’re being robbed for your watch, would you rather hand over a fake or a real one? Because both look the same to a criminal and they aren’t going to ask if it’s fake before pulling a knife out. Bottom line is this, we all have our opinions on fake watches but does it really matter if it’s fake or not? I love the omega seamaster and I DO have a replica of the black one albeit a ‘super clone’ and not an Ali express special. But regardless of that, it’s a beautiful watch to look at and I guess it’s the only option for some people. Fakes will never be anywhere near the quality of the original piece and accuracy won’t be the same which is obvious. But as far as looks are concerned, fakes do the job. Look the part and tell the time. On a side note, I have a couple of friends who own breitlings, omegas and rollies and all of them have fake versions of their real watches and use them as ‘beater’ watches 🤷🏻‍♂️ why risk 10k when you can look as good but for only 300-400£.

I recently purchased the NanoK and noticed the blur at long focal lengths and distances. Thanks for doing a great job showing on screen exactly what I’ve noticed in my photography. I will definitely get a better filter.

I might be late viewing this video but I sincerely hope you waited for the Rolex? I own and have owned watches from both brands. Rolex is far superior in fit, finish and you know deep down that its more special. If youre going to own an Omega then make it a Speedmaster

Great helpful vid, when I got my Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m I found the instruction manual lacking in explaining the fact that you have to turn the crown backwards to unlock it to get into position 1 to manually wind the main spring, when I went to setup my watch I just went straight to the section in the manual for the movement in my watch (8900) and it simply said in position 1 (crown against the case) I should wind forward to wind the main spring, then pull to position 2 to set the hour hand and date, then pull to position 3 to set the minute hand, then press back to position 1 against the case and it was done, in the section of the manual relevant to the 8900 movement there was no mention of the crown being a locking crown and the need to turn the crown backwards to unlock it into position 1 or the need to push it in a bit from position 1 then turn forward to lock it again. I pretty quickly figured it out for myself I've owned several dive watches in the past and they all had screw in locking crowns, but with most dive watches after unscrewing the locking crown you still need to pull it out one click to an adjustment position, unscrewing it just unlocks it but doesn't put it in an adjustment position, it wasn't until later that I found a brief mention right at the beginning of the manual that said "For models with a locking crown you need to rotate the crown backwards first to unlock into position 1 then press it in and rotate it forward to lock again" but nowhere in the manual is there any mention of which models have or don't have a locking crown, it should really also be mentioned in the section of the manual that applies to movements that have this feature.

That's actually a pretty darn nice looking watch.. I would donate it to someone who can't afford to watch at all. Don't just destroy it for the hell of destroying it, that's a waste.

I’d go with the old model Zenith Defy elite, with blue dial and titanium case. It’s a really under rated 3rd option

I purchased by my Submariner 124060 in 2021 and Pelagos 39 at retail in Nov 2022 - it is possible if you find the right AD.

The problem with that is some people pretty much don't care about others' opinion. Some people buy these watches because they like them and they're not ready to spend 6 grand on one, not because of the logo to trick others. I like the colours of the Omega Seamaster, I like how it looks, I'm not trying to fool myself as I know what I'm buying and I'm buying that watch not because of it's logo, but because I like it. That's a big difference. Some people are happy to have a quartz watch, they simply don't need more, it tells the time, it looks good, it's cheap. Happy days! You won't buy any brand watch for less than 100 pounds anywhere, the only option is going to be either a good watch with a logo written in Chinese from Ali Express, or a fake Omega that looks good, tells the time and makes it's buyer happy, or nothing. You can say "just buy casio", and yea, Casio is a great watch, but it doesn't look anywhere close like Omega.

Go for the Omega. I have the AT Gauss model and it’s great. Traded in a Datejust 36 for an Omega “Great White” and cash and knew immediately I’d made the right call.

There are different levels of luxury to different people. To someone who can only afford a bike, having a toyota corolla would be a luxury. And that Corolla driver would be correct in saying that a bike is not luxury. It's the same thing here: to people who can get Rolexes and such, Omega is objectively not luxury, but to someone who has trouble getting anything above a Timex, it could be.

When Rolex shot up in price because of scarcity, Omega became the next Tudor, it's for people who can't afford Rolex grey prices and are not rich enough to impress the AD🤣 Omega fanboys save their money to buy a watch, Omega AD doesn't care, but Rolex does and now they're bitter to Rolex bec they got dissed for not being rich enough

I’m honestly in a predicament. I get that the omega is the better watch, but I want a Rolex because, it’s a Rolex. And, I have 0 intention to baby the watch; I’d wear it every day (except when it’s dangerous to do so for obvious reasons). I want a daily driver watch that I don’t have to think about changing it up, ever because it’s “the one”. And presently, I suspect that the Rolex can do that, even if I know that the Aquamaster is the better daily driver.

I think it's good for harsh light conditions where you would stop down your aperture regardless. I do love it for portraits. I think it prevents skin glare and it can help with light reflect off someone's glasses
