Thankyou, good advice and well presented. I intend on hoping to gain funds towards a new community project that will aim to aid and assist the most vulnerable, disadvantaged and disenfranchised individuals and to reach out to people most in need of support. The target groups will be individuals with mental health issues, long'term sick and unemployed, and for those who need help reintegrating back into the community after serving long periods of incarceration. It is this group that people instantly have a distorted view on; in the sense of why should they get priority over those in the community who are struggling and have no criminal record. What people fail to recognize here though, is it is this marginalised percentage of people; who may have spent a significant amount of time in prison and are therefore out of touch with support networks, how to get their benefits claim up and running , such as Unerversal credit, which can only be applied for online. So what if the person is computer illiterate and never even used the internet, as we know it, before for many years? This process can be confusing even when you know how to make a claim on line but, what if the claimant has no device to keep track of his/her claim, and is unable to not only job search for the mandatory 8 hours aday required to be eligible for this benefit, which is payed monthly! And you have to wait 6 weeks before your first payment (unless you understand how to apply for an advance payment! ) all of this would be confusing and overwhelming, on top of the fact you may have been released after years of imprisonment and released with nothing but £47! Although people are unsympathetic to this percentage of the population; having committed an offence in the first place, they are now realeased back in to our communities as citizens and as such, still have the same rights to the same resources we have avsilable to, they have served their time; which could have been anything, under unique circumstances that people know nothing of for their imprisonment. However, my main point that i wanted to make was that there is not more of a time in somebody's life were they need support and guidance and can be done in the way of Mentorship from ex-offenders, who have been through this process and can relate to what they are going through, but most of all; this is a 'High Risk period were some individuals will resort back to crime' because of lack of money for necessitys, help+support and a feeling of complete confusion and isolation which is not addressed or mentioned, aswell a feeling of alienation from society at large. So if certain 'high risk' offenders are not given the help they need; it could resort down to another person unnecessary becoming a victim of crime, because the system has let down both parties. People simply don't understand the full scope as to why some of these people commit crimes in the first place. They may have been abused at the hands of our so called 'responsible' authority figures since they were innocent young children in the form of mental, sexual, phisical and psychological systematic abuse, that is commonly known as a fact that over 56% or more were in fact subjected to such traumas that obviously impacted on many young people's life's' who then went on to lead a life of crime, learning from an early age the system is malevolent and sinister' and not to be trusted! Terrible things were brought to light and all the cover ups were shown for what they were; systematic abuse and deep rooted corruption. However, even to thus day people fail to give individuals the benefit of the doubt nor 2nd chancers, but for things to change things must be changed and supported from the grass roots up to allow all disadvantaged people a shot at a decent quality of life, which obviously mut be worked and trained for to obtain the necessitys needed for a reasonable quality of life. There is however, people who do need to be locked up for publjc protection, but i am referring to those who commited drug related offences, were better, more planned out sentences that could have also helped serve the community in the way of labour and voluntary work could have been used in many cases. However, prison and the incarceration of human beings has now become bigger buisness than ever! Hence, the supermax prisons that are now being built and the same agenda as a America is being adopted here, and alls that is happening there is a bigger incarceration rate and higher rates of reoffending. Furthermore, prisons are being used as over spill units for the mentally ill, so people are sadly that blind and ignorant to see and realise, that the states are making money of imprisoning and incarcerationing its mentally ill; who need treatment, not long-term lock up behind a door to excabate the over all issues an individual may already have. There is of course a reason this is being allowed to go on', however, hopefully if we can keep the people informed and those that need help he support that is needed; so thats helping not just offenders' but also the mentally ill, who need genuine help! Our ex-veterans with PTSD, who end up in prision through lack of aftercare following combat and end up committing crime is more common than people realise. Basically', an agency to be built and supported from the grassroots up, by our own people from our own communities need to supported to inform the people as to what is really going on behind closed doors and brick walls and with that, hopefully with enough numbers of people to support 'the independent grass root up' agency, information and help aswell as support, we may be able to start being recognised as a voice of our own and influence that 'must' be listened to for a change to occur, rather than just be 'considered or taken into account by people who have never even passed through many of our communities! Basically, a multi-facet agency; that aims at addressing a multitude of social issues which are clearly being ignored in our communities, but nothing is being said that needs addressing and needs fresh ideas for change! One last thing to finish; what is the biggest killer in men in Britain today? One might say Cancer; well it's suicide', and the fact the reasons are not questioned and being allowed to worsen says to me they are doing very well in dumbing down the population and taking are attentions else were, questions going unanswered and most of all; people are going unnecessary unassisted, grossly unhelped and unaided in a way that has a negative knock on affect on the communities at large. The people need qualified and willing individuals to stand up and be a voice for our communities, which is not happening at this current moment in time. However, my intentions are to start small and srart bringing awareness to the people of my own town, as there is a rise in more poverty than ever othe time and more drug and drink related deaths than recorded all through the 60s 70s 80s 90 and 00's' so why is there nobody openly addressing these issues and what concerns me most is why is nobody talking about it? Thankyou for reading!
