This is a great breakdown Pat! ❤
Thanks for this informative share Patrick.
Zillions thanks!! You unknowingly juste saved my mental sanity!
FYI In some situations, when nothing else works, I discovered that if you change the wall direction of a specific wall (there is a special command for that) then it works... Go figure! 🙃 Man... this piece of software is getting worse by the day.
it definitely seems that some features have been hanging around unfinished for a long time. I've never tried the invert wall direction to fix plan connections; usually use that to get surfaces to align in 3d/elevation. I'll see if it fixes my plan connections next time I'm against a wall! thanks for the tip!
Awesome Patrick, been looking for a good explanation of the relationship between story level and sea level for years! Thank you very much!
Can a zone be used to indicate finishes in an section? For example tiles with a thickness of 50mm
please how did you open the story settings window?
com+7 is my shortcut; it is also under design > story settings
dumb solution
Is there audio to go with this?
Great explanation!
Exactly what I was looking for, and clearly explained. Thank you!
Hi Patrick. Thanks for the video. However, it is still not working for me. Any other solutions?
only other thing to do is to delete the marker and start over. If you copy/paste each viewpoint into a worksheet first you can keep a record of the annotation/drafting
any way to turn up volume in the youtube editor?
Hello! I hope you can help me. I followed your instructions, but my track is located vertically, not horizontally (on the surface of the road). I tried to find a way to turn it, but it didn’t work. Could you tell me why your road is located correctly - horizontally on the road surface?
Can you do a video on your profile environment and what setting did you adjust to get cursor like that
Thanks 👍🏼
There should be a better way to do it.🥲
"promo sm"
👍🏻
I hear nothing in this video. Does it have audio?
appologies... I didn't realize the sound didn't go out with processing... maybe I'll re-record it soon
Been looking for this for some time now. Thank you
Amazing thank you !!
很珍贵的经验,感谢分享👍
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
👍👍👍
Nice! I suspect that top part could simply be part of the railing too.
yeah, I probably could have built the entire wall/railing/etc. with railings sometimes simpler is better though
Good tip! I didnt know that Enter, then Enter again for spot/points elevations! Thanks!
so many new little things like this, I pick up almost weekly
Great video Patrick. I was wonder if you could please cover reference level for Mesh and how to set it up properly. I am have trying to figure out how to best use the reference level for site topography with the mesh tool. For instance my FFL is 101.10 (Australian Height Datum), how would I go about setting up the reference levels on a really slope site so that I can communicate levels for site excavations and retaining walls in elevations or sections for council and other consultants? Also for my own understanding.
thank you for the inquiry. This seems like a project or case specific need. I'd be happy to do a video on how I handle stories, project 0, reference levels, and sea level; and how the mesh and floor level/contours relate to that... it may be a few weeks until I can get that video out, but I'll see what I can do
@@PatrickMay4dProof yes Please !! Your approach and techniques are very helpful and always up skilling me. Will be on the look out. Thank you
cool 👍🏻
Nice!
Nice ArchiCad tutorial!! Keep going, thanks for sharing👏👏
Thank you
@@PatrickMay4dProof 🙏My pleasure, you are always welcome to @krissosful:)
thank you for your hard work.
😉👍🏻
so good info thanks 🙂👏
you are the master!👍
Wow, thanks
*promosm* 😋
thank you for your video, now I know we need some adjusment when exporting .dwg format from archicad. I want to ask something if I may, do you know why the format choices can't change (it turned grey)? so now it stuck on .pdf format, it would be very helpful if you know the solutions! again thankyou for your video!
What I find weird too..is why doesn't he Slab has the option of "SHOW TO FLOOR PLAN RANGE" as the Walls and Beams have
I actually wish all tools had as flexible options for stories to be included on as the slab tool does. walls and columns only options being home story or all relevant means juggling floor plan cut plans to define relevant stories
👍👍👍
👍🏻
Hi Patrick, There's sub element arrow tool which let you modify morph edges.
yes, I'm sorry I didn't mention that in this video; selecting the sub element KBS is cntrl+shift. even isolating a sub element (edge/surface) and deleting will sometimes delete the entire element. This work-around has been my solution to that glitch
👍🏻
Cool trick! Thank you Patrick
You're welcome!
😉
Hey! Is it possible to add another 2D symbol besides this circle? I refer to AutoCAD vegetation symbols. And that you can also change your measurements. Thanks!
yes. if the 3d and 2d share an origin, or you know a few modifier commands (add/rot/mul), you can draft and save a 2d symbol as an object, then copy/paste 2d and 3d together
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. I really need to start using the shell tool more oftern.
yeah, the shell tool is a game changer; especially for revolved shapes
Dear Patrick, Where is the slack group? Can I join in? THX.
