My goal is to provide a preview of trails. I find I enjoy a trail the second time I ride it because I’m more familiar with the lines and features. We focus on the trail not the rider so we always try and go at a moderate pace. I hope these previews gives you a better idea of what to expect.

Come fly with me on Cleod 9's "B" line Dragons Drop. 5' gap drop followed by a long fast step up which my Garmin had me at 29' to clear to the downslope. Then a small gap and step down before you get dumped back onto Cleod 9. Super fun.

I rode (walked) this trail today. My hat goes off to you for riding most of it. I won't ride it again unless more work is done to it. I saw 2 abandoned rakes,as if the trail builders gave up.The only tracks I saw were from burros.Lost the trail once and had to use trailforks to find it again.This could be an awesome trail,stunning views,lots of yucca and boulders.hopefully BLM will develop it more
The ‘mountain bike’ trail drops straight off end of Mesa to parking lot. You went down horse trail. What you did really sucks. The trail down front of Mesa marginally better. Before water bars were put in it was a moderately fun trail.

It is a designated downhill only trail. For good reason with all the thin blind corners and people hauling butt down. Climbing would be brutal.

This morning a good friend took me out for my 2nd ride ever on a MTB. Took Kibble n bits up to Goat Roper then down Ebb n Flow. Halfway down EnF I joking told him I was reevaluating our friendship. lol. Had fun, will do it again.

Nice video. Thank you! Good to see others also struggling to find the trails in our neighborhood ;) Aside from the big drop this looks like a fun and relatively easy trail though, would you say?
I think it deserves a double black or more if you plan to do the drop. Other wise it would be a harder single black. The big drop is gnarly and very high consequence with a small landing and a short chunky run in. The rest of the trail is steep and loose. UA-cam doesn’t show it of course. In less than .5 of a mile you will drop 450 feet. No super difficult features but steep, loose and thin. Easy for some and dangerous for others. Fun but short. I haven’t been up there since the video so feel free to comment on the current state if you go.
@@justthetrailmtb Yea that drop is a hard pass for me - lol. Maybe on some packed dirt, but not on these loose gravel lines by rocks. My leg is still healing from last week's wreck coming down Bipolar ;) Do you have a course that includes this trail you recommend on Trailforks? I'll give it a try when it gets colder and I can take my time finding the way! Thank you!
The quick way is to go up cleod 9 to secret menu and take hold fast. Hold fast is one of the more difficult single blacks in Las Vegas , but the first part to get to hold tight is less difficult. Then after hold tight you can take cleod 9 down to bottom. :)
Just went up there today and it was so much fun! The blue trail was nice and challenging for a beginner like me, but the black trail was so much steeper than it looks on camera! That one was scary but fun!

Just did the entire loop. First time hitting a mountain trail. Started from the lower and I walked my bike more than I rode. Hitting the black diamond was great.
So on this trail you pedal up what you came down on?
You can go up what I came down or you can go up lower bristlecone. It’s longer and a green trail. There are a few options.

Awesome! You Vegas cats are my favorite trail videographers because you show all aspects of the ride- slow tech climbs, flats, fast downhill; all of the experience. I hate just seeing how fast someone rides without showing the work to get up to the top. Good job!

Bears best has some more mellow blue trails, da burbs have some cool easy jumps and black/double black diamonds

Great job young dewd! Best vid I've seen in a while because you weren't trying to show how fast you can ride; you showed the realistic ride pace and I felt like I was with you, both up and downhill. It's so different from where I ride because I get little daylight because of tall trees. I would love to try your area. Happy Trails!

Hello. Not sure about actual RV parks with hook-ups and such. There is BLM land on the edges of the Red Rock Conservation Area, where Van-life types park at night. There is the Red Rock Campground off the 159 as well. Almost all the trails are connected by other trails. I don't know of anything where you can park, wake up and start pedaling up your favorite trail, except maybe the campground, which sits between the Bear's Best Trails and Cowboy and across the street from Calico. Hope this helps and enjoy.
What is a good tire for that area? I'll be out for a race in May. I was thinking Continental Cross Kings or Maxxis Rekon.
What kind of race?
Enduro riders in this areas run an assortment of enduro style tires. Dhr/f Dhr rear/assegai front. But any loose terrain style brand of enduro tires works well in the loose. Cross country tires are a different story. If running a race in the blue diamond area I would think a fast rolling xc tire is best. Some people are tough on wheels and run Cush and dh casing but that’s personal. Lots of plants that wants to make holes so a good sealant is a must. Unfortunately no casing to protect against our cactus.

I would race with the Rekon or Rekon Race on the rear. Rekon or Dissector on front. The trails on the race are pretty tame. Not much chunk or sharp rocks. Good luck!
I'll be in Vegas in a week and will be bringing the bike with me, I will check this place out. Rode Vegas in the past. Beautiful but the terrain is tough on the bike and body, everything wants to kill you....including the plants and vegetation!

Great video especially with the chapter index. I assume you didn't shuttle? Do you just ride this as an out and back or is there an easier ride up from late night parking?
Hi! We shuttle it. You can climb up Fook but it's brutal. Technically you can ride up the highway. It would be easier but a little dangerous with the vehicles.

It looks like there was a right turn before the horse stables that went around the area. I saw a trail on the right at around 12:21. It’s ok I don’t think I’ll try this trail. I am glad you rode it for me.😂
Yeah the real trail drops down to the right and the horse Area. Most people go straight and head down the easier option to the parking lot. Ultimately not great.
