Worked at a large factory that one section was very hot all year long. Mechanics would come into the shop after a full shift In hot rooms and removed steel toed work boots. Toes looked like they were sunburned. One by one they stopped wearing steel toed work boots. As an electrician we always had approved electrical work boots with non metallic toe protection and no metal shoe lace eyelets.

Thank you for the info. Personally I don't like fake leather. I am a 365 days motorcycle rider and fake leather cannot last enough for it's price. Fake leather will brake apart, but real leather will keep going if you clean and use leather creme to keep it in top condition. Price difference: fake leather boots 175 euro. Real leather boots top quality: 300 euro. Fake leather: lasts: 2.5 ~ 3 years then it breaks, cannot prevent. Real leather boots, top quality can last let's say 10~15 years. So, you descide what you want. I tried, I think fake leather is rubbish.

What type and brand of treatments, conditioners, chemicals would be beneficial and which ones should be avoided? After all, who would be interested in useless information like that. Your intention to show Toe caps history and evolution is trivial and informative. However, you made a huge mistake in using an image of HITLER to reference a period in time. When I first came to Finland I had steel toecaps in my insulated boots. The first time it snowed, I was shocked at how cold my toes got on a short walk. I felt that I was getting frostbite within a mile of leaving the house. Obviously I went and bought more suitable shoes the next day. Nowadays I live here and I don't recall ever seeing steel safety boots in the shops.
