Eventually I emailed the BHA again recently about what happened with Ayr and the Doonside Cup as the new British Flat Pattern & Listed Races is coming out soon. This time they did reply saying that Ayr had wanted the date changed. I have no issue with a date change but I do with Ayr's failure to respond to me at the time.

I forgot to say in the video but when I was at the pre parade ring (hardly anyone else was ever there during the meeting) I saw some people setting up some broadcast equipment. I then heard someone say "Hello Bumble." I thought that someone had the same nickname as David Lloyd. I looked across and realised it was David Lloyd! You most certainly can't see the Isle Of Man from the train to Cartmel which I mention you can see at the end of the video. My Cartmel visit did have a disastrous start but not in the way I expected!

Five horses were left who finished 3rd, 4th, 6th with the other two not finishing (Le Breuil not getting in the race). Minella Times failed just about everything! Given two of the last five winners of the Grand National haven't won at 3m+ I'm wondering whether the race shortening by a furlong is making a difference.

Bristol De Mai now clearly fails as the weight difference between him and the bottom-weight is now 22 pounds. The last horse to win with that weight difference or more was Red Rum also with 22 pounds diiference in 1977.

If it was a top racehorse you definitely wouldn’t be sitting on it. It’s clearly a young horse; probably a juvenile hurdler and as not successful yet, it’s loss has no moral purpose. So, so sad Gordon. Do the honourable thing and tell the truth, more so please stay away from racing till the season is over!
