This originally was not a "deleted scene" in the traditional meaning of the term where they put outtakes onto a DVD/Blu-ray as bonus material that was decided not to use during the final production (edit) that will be released. What we have here is a scene that was already in this episode right from the very first time it was broadcast in 1978 and all the re-runs since throughout the 1980s/90s & 2000s. The woke lefty snowflakes who ruin all comedy for people to enjoy are responsible for removing this scene in around 2015/2016 approximately. Before then, TV stations showed this episode with this scene included with no trouble at all. What is actually wrong with it? Are the BBC insinuating that it's racist as Frank is completely black due to the fact that he'd just been thrown by the removal van straight into a big barrel of oil, just before an Indian couple (I believe) come out of their house to see what's going on? Is it because the Indian couple came out of their house speaking a different language? Frank heard this and thought that they may not speak English or only speak a little English. Because of this Frank feels he has to talk extra clearly to the couple so they understand him. He asks for directions at first (which was a very funny line) but they did not understand. So Frank has to explain he's an "English man" who needs help. Frank puts his hand up as a way of saying could you take my hand and help me out, which the Indian couple did. After this Frank didn't quite know what to say as their English wasn't that good. Frank thinks to say to the Indian couple "English man very grateful to Indian brother." Then the Indian man replies and says "English brother would like some tea?" "Tea" as in a "cup of tea". I guess the Indian man felt that Frank could do with one after what he'd just been through. I think Frank was more interested in getting clean though. I know I've just described virtually the entire clip, but I've done it to try and understand what part of it was racist according to the BBC. If someone could enlighten me it would be interesting to see what other people say. Especially fans of the show. Back in the 1990s after my parents split up my dad had Sky but we didn't. This was analogue satellite and about two years before digital TV started. Me and my mum just had the four main channels. Every night of the week for a period of time, UK Gold (now just GOLD) showed Some Mother's Do 'Av 'Em every night. I asked my dad to record them all for me onto VHS. Although the episodes were continuous he would give me a Series at a time. I believe this was over two VHS tapes. GOLD did this twice in the 1990s. Once around 1993 and then in 1996. Both times he recorded a series at a time for me. On both occasions the first episode of Series 3 (Moving House) had this scene included in it. I should've kept them tapes now... looking back. Then one day around 2015/16 it happened to be re-run on the TV again. By this time we had Sky Digital but can't remember what station it was. This is when I saw this scene cut for the very first time. It's been cut ever since regardless of what TV channel was showing it. Even on the DVD it's cut. I don't know if it was ever released on VHS, but if it was this scene would've been included. I actually have VHS to DVD or digital file software, but can't be bothered to do that. What I will be doing soon is using a download of this clip and editing it back into this episode. Video editing is something I'm very good at, but it's time consuming and you have to be really fussy if you want the perfect edit. I want to edit it exactly back to how it was originally. Someone told me it's still on the Spanish DVD box set which has the original English track as well as a dub over in Spanish, but apparently the picture quality isn't very good. So, after all that, what's the valid reason for editing this scene out. If you think it's racist in any way, tell me how.

If this was considered racist then they should watch Love Thy Neighbour 😂 i have that on DVD and its all there because if you cut any of those episodes then they will be none left lol. But i do not see this as racist i find this scene quite scary 😂.

I hate the fact that some oversensitive cretins can't handle Frank has tar over his body, how the hell is this offensive!!?? I have never met any human being that colour, let alone a race that covers itself in hot tar. Comedy is something to make you laugh, not political correct BS. I tried to but the box sets of this online, and unless you get the Spanish version (it has English speaking on or off too) you can only get series episodes with cuts, this part included. A recent red top news paper in the UK had a 'story' about it being homophobic because some loser complained about the word poof being used in a Christmas Special.

This scene was redone for any repeat after it's first transmission on 11th November 1978 - the revised scene has no couple in it at all, just the van driver say "Mr Spencer?", then we see Frank turn around in the vat of oil, he says "Good Afternoon. Is this the North End Council Estate?", then we head into the studio for their first scene inside their new house.

To be honest, the fact the furniture is strewn all over the road and Frank ended up in tar was the removal men’s fault. They packed the van and they were driving far too fast trying to keep up with Betty. She would have had to slow down once she realised they weren’t keeping up with her. So - at least this mishap wasn’t really Frank’s fault. If anyone, Betty is partly to blame.
