BladeBox
I finally did the right thing and made myself a proper box to discard my used utility blades. I made this box as quick and cheap as possible. Then I decided to engrave it on the laser because....well why not.

My dog ate my rabbit!
Переглядів 3,2 тис.6 років тому
I woke up this morning expecting an ordinary day...instead I discovered that my dog ate my rabbit...that's right, she ate my rabbit. I walked into the kitchen, went to my coffee maker, I then watched in shock as she walked over and ate my rabbit in the middle of the kitchen floor...poor bunny. I only have one thing to say about what I saw.... April Fools!

Building a Vacuum Former
Переглядів 1,1 тис.7 років тому
I made a small vacuum form machine with halogen lamps as the heat source. All the parts were laser cut but it is simple enough to build with a table saw or circular saw. The vacuum source is a simple shop vac.

    I use wood glue, sifted fine sawdust packed into it. Let dry. Brush off exess. Yellow or orange alcohol based wood stain. Dry. Sprinkle with mahogny stain. Dry. Thin layer clear matte laquer. Sand slightly after drying. Wash with diluted black wash to give it a little dirt effect and to beat down the brightness of the colors. You will not be able to see the diffrence from the real thing. :)

    • @prakkari
      @prakkari 5 років тому

      TheBuildCave : No I have'nt tried that, and then again there are no such specialized products to be found here in Iceland do to the small market and ordering via the net is too expensive, specially if one can think of an alternative solution. I was a producion designer for Icelandic moves an tv for decaids and the shoestring budgets called for quick and cheap solutions. That is where I come from. Most effects are based on personal insight, feeling and what is at hand, rather than someone elses canned products. :)
