A little 3D model of the sieve, with pictures of it in situ and removal video at the end... We're slowly starting to record the internal machinery and equipment, before it pulverises in front of us... Music: Explanation and Marxism section is now philosophy by PCxTC (available under CC-BY)
Hot Water Bottle Holder

Music: Mr Smith - Looking Out My Window A silly little video of a silly little task that just seemed like it was a priority for some reason, despite everything else there is to do... Making a holder for a hot water bottle for a KellyKettle, because you really don't want to be holding it while someone else is pouring... Sorry about the lack of mic on this one, IT problem.

Geodesic Dome Greenhouse Construction - Part 1
UA-cam decided to place your video on my startpage, so of course, I had no choice but to start at the beginning. So nice to see the progress you made. Will you make a video about how you found your mill and why you decided to restore it? Also what your plans are? Would be very interesting to know. Greetings from Germany
Thank you for the feedback. ☺️ We’re just waiting for a new mic adapter to arrive in the post for better sound during the spoken sections, and we’re planning of doing a little update and walkthrough the different areas of the site. There have been a lot of changes since we began so it’s probably overdue. We can definitely talk about the story behind the idea, the search and the aspirations…
@@rothai-mill Great, can't wait to get to know more about your project! During the video where you were planting the plants at the border of your land, I think you said something about that being part of the contractual obligations? I'm very curious about that part, what kind of requirements did you have to accept with this old mill? Thank you again for making the videos and letting us take part in the restoration.
So you have a water wheel that can power a house if it done right that cool
We have two waterwheels, one was for shelling, the other for grinding. We just need to restore them and get them running which is no easy task. 😅
Wow! That tree really got in there.
It sure did. But the house has not been lived in for over a hundred years so it could have been a lot worse. 😅
What a backbreaking job! Well done Kat.
Thank you! ☺️
Love it, Love it, Love it, Girl dang good engineer High five twice which makes a Ten five
Fantastic work Love it
Yes designed and built me own 12 footer dome.
Geodesic Domes are awesome. After you figure them out Right Love You
That whacking the posts in was hilarious. Good job guys. 🇦🇺
One would be scared the pointing is the only thing holding up the cottage 😅
I could well be… we’re living on the edge… 🤣
where dis the hub kit come from ,,, company ... cost?
It comes from buildwithhubs.co.uk Cost about €150-ish, but you need to source your own sticks and sheeting. They have lots of tips on their website.
What does it actually treat? Grey water? Black water?
Grey water… doesn’t yet but it will, there’s currently nothing connected to it but we’re hoping to get the septic tank part of the system done in early September.
Bat! 🚙🦇🏠
We should point out that bat's are legally protected and therefore it is illegal to disturb bats in their roosts. In the UK and Ireland (Europe), only licensed bat workers/ecologists are permitted to physically inspect roosts including bat boxes. As it happens, Chris has such a license and so is able to inspect the boxes as necessary. It is still possible to monitor if a bat roost or box is being used through non-invasive ground based methods which basically means watching the entry/exit point for bats as they emerge or (re)enter. Having an ultrasonic detector in hand helps with species identification.
What Chris said. 👆🏻
I'd go 4 feet higher and put a 5ft 10 door in the base ., and a ladder inside with alot of height
You’re more resourceful than we are. We barely managed this. 😅
Shame to put plants in the hot tub bothy 😂
They’re not complaining. 😅
Yay mail!
Boo bills! 😅
@@rothai-mill agreed
That’s a big job! You are hard workers!
Wow great idea.
Thank you! 😁 Not the best timing but extra space will be very useful when kitties get the zoomies. 🤣 At least we now know we have all the pieces!
Had a look and saw nothing unusual, just Cat doing all the work and Chris waiting for orders, as I said nothing unusual there.
Ps. Happy Birthday
Haha. Thank you! Although that is 100% true, it’s not the correct answer to the “riddle”. 😜
Happy birthday!
I love the mill!
Nice handstand/flip?
Thank you! 😁 It’s only a handstand! Wish I could do a flip. 😅
But did he get the wing nut off???
He did. It’s in the central hub. We’ll hang some mistletoe off of it. 😂
@@rothai-mill or a missile-toad
Throws away manual. What are we doing with these?
Welcome to my world! 🤣
Fascinating - wow never knew any of this about eels or eel traps ! Thanks both - really enjoy your videos
Thank you for the kind words! 🤗 We’re also constantly discovering new stuff and learning more about the old practices… it’s all very exciting!
As someone who is not good with plants but likes to hear people go on about permaculture it would be interesting to have video on how you defined the zone and which principles you used to pick the plants.
Thank you for the comment! 😁 In house ecologist man will do a video explanation of his thought process in selecting the plants and will be more “on it” with the explanations in the future, as he’s now realised how grumpy he looks in all the videos. 🤣
What were the strings for?
The strings are the two big logs. I'm not sure if that's what they're called on a bridge actually, but that's what they're called on a staircase. The ropes were for moving them, they were pretty heavy otherwise so we had to sling them.
This is the dream right here, such a beautiful property. I wish you guys the best of luck in redeveloping it.
Thank you, Kirk, for your encouragement and for your music!
