Airspeed & Altitude: We're Just Getting Started
Two full grown men, full tanks, warm day. Good luck climbing. Scarey plane.
Having flown a 46 415C Ercoupe several times, you are letting the airplane fly you. Just enjoy the ride and don’t fight the fun. It’s not a T-6 😂
Just getting my fixed wing license and have an option to pick a 1946 up. Would yall recommend it for my first plane?
Decades ago I knew two brothers who had a 1966 Alon 'Coupe. IIRC, it had rudder pedals added to it. They took me for a couple of rides in it. IT WAS REALLY FUN!
Jesus going to let me flying to him when he comes. And that can't take you to Jesus only Hell bell 🔔
As an experienced coupe pilot ....i lost count as to the number of mistakes made in the attempted coupe landings.....i suggest that you stick to aircraft with rudder peddles...
If you keep trying to fly the Ercoupe like it's a Cessna you're not going to like it. Land in the crab.
You are over thinking it. let it weather vane and land it that way it will land perfectly!
I've got about 3 hours in one after a 10 minute check out. They're a hoot. Just fly it down the runway and land it in a crab just like most of the Boeing and Airbus pilots do now.
坂本九
It’s got the V tail bonanza wiggle wag.
It was a beautiful airplane but also a beast.
This is an amazing some people just don't love beauty
my grandfather was a b-17 pilot in ww2 bad ass bomber
Wow you feel the same way as i do! Love anything that flies!!!!!
Needs power stearing? And a alarm! Hahaha lol!
Helped push this plane into the hangar at Pope AFB NC in the early 90s. It’s a great looking plane inside and out.
I've flown it before with no trouble. Loved flying it. Loved having the top down. And my arm out the window.
I was there when there were working on the plane the oil had a strong smell
Why use this song? What is your point?
what point is to be had, its Kyu Sakamoto?
@@Speedy_pig123 that does not make any sense.
@@harrybond1485same with yours, this is just a song in the background, what subliminal message are you looking for???
I noticed that, too. It was recorded nearly two decades after the end of WW2. ??? (I'm a American fan of the song btw.)
I read that the B29 dev program cost more than the Manhattan Project, not sure if thats actually true.
Hope that goofball is not a commercial passenger pilot.
Algún día tengo que ver este avión. Bravo Memphis Belle!!! From Spain 👏👏👏👏👏
At about 150 hours i became an aircraft salesman…. My first sale was a 172 that i delivered from Tulsa to Bismarck North Dakota… trade in was an Aircoupe…it was setting in weeds grown up above the wings… pulled it out started it up and would only run on one mag… got it fixed sat on the tail to get the water out of the fuse…. Brakes were a rod sticking down under the instrument panel…. Go on the throttle half way and it would miss like it was going to quit so you pulled the carb heat push the throttle all the way in and i would smoothe out then carb heat back in and she would go to full throttle and you were on your way. Let it gain speed and because the wing was not positive insodence sp?? You had to pull back to change wing angle or it would go for miles down the runway till you hit something…so it flew and was way different to fly especially for a low timer. I just flew it… got boared and opened a box of crackerjacks and munched on them as i headed to Tulsa…took a lifetime to get home…was on a fairy permit for annual reasons but made it. Not that much fun to fly but i was working and making money doing it. The wings were painted with who knows what and i watched some of it peal off and go into the distance as it let loose. Oh the humor… right wing literally worked and one odd light worked on the instrument panel…thats all …. None other on the plane. Ran good and gave me no problems. Made it home and a day later i took my Dad out to see my first fairing flight job plane. He was Captain on on a 747 at the time. When we walked up and saw it in all its glory he just looked at it then looked at me and had no words to express what he was thinking….. to this day he never said a thing about that little bird but i knew what he was thinking… are you stupid is the first thing that comes to mind…great first experience i will never forget….. ugly as sin…. Worn out and in need of much attention that girl was .. but she got me home without a problem.. tried and true… that was in 73 and now i am 73 and adore avaition no matter the form…… i often dream of those days and miss them but most of all i wonder what happened to that ole girl… with all my heart i pray she found the Love of her life and he or she dressed her up like new and like she should be… and shes loose from the bonds of earth soaring high where she can reach out and touch the face of God. Fair winds sister and may you live for eternity
Ricky. From nova scotia?
"Pete repete" 💀
I was crew chief on the Belle back in 94 when it belonged to military aircraft restoration corporation - good times
What did this b seventeen start out as and did it see combat
Looks like it could use some new canvas for the tail guns.
Yeah, that old + cloth control surfaces = leave nothing to chance!
Those are the cheapest jankiest guaranteed to rip and break ratchet straps
I would have to imagine you SHOULD NOT fly with landing crosswinds. There’s no way to actually correct for the crab so every time you land you would be sideloading the gear. That can’t be good. Or do you literally kick left aileron /rudder at the last minute before touchdown?
Super safe, if you know its characteristics. It was so flyer friendly it could be sold from a catalog, Sears or JC Penney. Beautiful night flights.
I got to see the Memphis Belle a few weeks ago in dayton. Lovely young lady sitting with her wheels up on stands and her bomb doors open. ❤
Why was the tail taken off?
They are inspecting the entire airframe and correcting small issues. They are being detailed and removing the tail to get access to some items
It's not a rudderless airplane. It's a rudder pedal-less airplane.
Might want to air up that tailwheel
Nice one! A living legacy!. Lest we forget!.
Why so many swazis symbols on it ?
They are “kill markings” to represent how many German airplanes they shot down.
Sukiyaki by Kyu Sakamoto is one of my favorite songs.
Yeah it's a great song, that zero looks awesome made by Mitsubishi
I was fortunate enough to get to work on this bird at the Fayetteville airport after a mishap at an airshow there. Very fond memories.
A bit belated, but welcome to Wichita.
You guys need to remove that annoying background music.
👍💯🤘🤘🤘
Came here because I listened to Pilot To Pilot. Daniel has some stories! Can't wait to watch some more of your videos.
I had a chance to tour the movie Memphis Belle when she was at Seymour Johnson AFB several years ago during the Wings Over Wayne Airshow.
Born and raised in Wichita. I actually was given an opportunity to fly in Doc. It was an amazing experience
I want to see more.
What all did they do to convert it to an F? Did they move the waist windows?
The chin trurret was added.
