@@swaguilar Thank you! We’ve played with Gretchen on banjo for a long time, but just added Cynthia on fiddle last spring. Fun way to spend a Tuesday morning!
@@swaguilar I dug this one out from years ago-2019. That is our niece, Beth. I think we should do this one with Lauri and Andy! Thank you for your constant support!
Thank you for listening and commenting. Supposedly he wrote this song when he was sixteen. I found that interesting. We were inspired by the performance of this song by The Comatose Brothers featuring AJ Lee.
Thanks for replying. I wasn't sure about posting a comment because of how long your video has been there. I like to hear different people play the same song. I just only play in a park on Sundays, with some friends because we are few retired old folks. I started a few years ago, with a tenor ukulele then learned a guitar from a friend. I needed the extra space of the frets.
Thank you! Having a rainy day here. With all the rain on the coast, we still haven’t gotten that much here in the desert. Just a lot of cooler than usual temperatures.
The area is on a US Forest Service Map. It would need to be the one covering the White Mountain Area. It’s been years since we were there. The road is off the road to the Bristle Cone Pines (White Mountain Road of 168 out of big pine.) It goes off to the right and past a
research Station a think. From there the road to Cottonwood Creek is off to the left. Best bet is order a forest service map of the area. A beautiful and interesting area!
Really nice video--thanks for posting it! I've been meaning to do that trail one of these days. Ignore obnoxious comments from people who have nothing better to do than be mean on the internet. This video was exactly what I was looking for...gives me a good idea of the trail.
And hey, Celica4life: LOL- you find a thread with people talking about an area they love to explore, and take time out of your busy day to add an obnoxious and insulting comment. What a jerk.
....the canyon leading to the Narrows, instead of going left towards the Narrows, head straight on the trail heading off from there. You will soon find yourself at the top of an extremely steep cliff overlooking Squaw Valley and beyond. Spectacular. And you will see in front of you a super-steep descent that will take you right down into the valley, and from there you can head towards Papoose flat, Badger Flat, the Cabin, all of it....really exhilarating descent- or axcent- done both many times.
Hi, thanks for your post. The reason I don't care for that section is the 2 miles of endless, slow crawling through the canyon....unrewarding for me. But both trails: Papoose and the Narrows- done many times, and in different ways. Haven't tried the alternate Mazourka road....love to next time. But I have a great tip for you: one of the most exciting "alternate" trails in that area I discovered by mistake, and it's become a favorite: on the Narrows trail...just before you head left towards....
@bjnick That's funny, I like the section through the narrows. Have you made the decent off Mazourka Peak that isn't the class I road? We went up it sort of by mistake while exploring. It's not bad, just quite rocky. Love the area too, and I hope we make it back up there this fall.
Thanks for your video! Coming out of Papoose Flat, there is an uphill stretch that is almost a class IV, but still tame by 4 x4 standards. Tough enough for me, though. Plus the intense climb out of Harkless Flat is a favorite of mine. My least favorite section in that area is the miserable 2 m. through that canyon to the Narrows where there's the old miner's cabin. hate it. Anyway, I love that area, and nice to see others do as well. I virtually never see a soul in there.
@ryanerb The Whites are straight East of Bishop. They can be accessed by Silver Canyon Road, a 4X4 road off of 395, White Mountain Road off 168 out of Big Pine, or Wyman Canyon Road, a 4X4 road out of Deep Springs. They are beautiful, and a real contrast to the Sierra.
Love it! Great job! I love to find other musicians in my age bracket still rockin.. I tried the song also if you'd care to take a listen Cheers !!

Thank you for your suggestion. We could probably use more energy in all our songs! We are both playing baritone ukuleles.

I am not a wonderful musician, however I would try more energy into the chorus. I lke the lady's finger picking. I she playing a ukulele?
Love this. So did Dad 💕

Very cool song choice! I always like John Denver singalongs!
