On this Cold winters day, just days before christmas, I found Georgia Central Y103 switching out hopper cars of corn for storage in silos. Then after moving around to get set up, i saw L782 approaching on the track behind him! i turned around and went for the crossing where I set up there. L782 would pull through and wait for Y103 to move the empties off the spur and onto the main, then tag the...

It was a a hot and almost windless day when we arrived at the funnel, it would soon pick up as the hours went on as afternoon showers would push in. We had only 15 minutes to spare before our first train of the day. First train of the day is L729-26, the waycross-jacksonville local turn job. he was a decet train today with only empty phosphate hoppers in the lead and then scores and scores of e...

Today is a clouded yet hot and muggy day. Making my way into East Dublin after work I found Y103 shuffled into an old line, previously used for a factory, switching out scrap gondolas and tank cars. He would take the empties to the scray yard and and collect a single loaded car to be put onto L782 much later that day. Upon hearing on the radio "Mainline clear" when Y103 was about to shuffle int...

Sadly the first time I would see the first Scherer plant coal train, would be the last train of that day- a local job up the line on a single track main portion has blocked it in order to switch out a customer- which took many hours more than it should have, leaving me empty handed with only 2 train catches. Hope you enjoy the video!

Starting off the day with a departing manifest bound for Macon, he was stopped for a higher priority SB manifest with foreign power. He was only one of the 3 trains we saw that day. first one we missed by actual seconds- manifest train (unknown CS) with UP power going track speed!

On this hot summer morning I found Y103 had already began work by getting a cut of loaded boxcars out of WestRock with one of the last 5 recently acquired B32-8s no. 550, sporting an awesome sounding K5LA. After getting the heavy loads of paper up the slight grade with his old GE engine chugging away, he stops and 1 of 2 other engines in the transfer yard is tag-teamed into use. Out of sight is...

A Car running over a Soda Can is the same as A train hitting a Car. Also, when a train hits a vehicle, it will always be the vehicle that is at fault, for they weren't supposed to be on the railroad's right-of-way.
Me and Daddy were just there a few days ago
Nice catches
Great video! Very cool to see him pass the old Dudley SCL Defect Detector Bungalow! What time do you recall him passing that detector at time stamp 11:57 in the video?

can i use your video?
Why was the emergency brake activation so late from this incompetent crew? You can clearly hear the locomotives only start to throttle down when they are going past the camera. That means they didn’t start emergency brake action until after they had hit the car. The crew had such a clear view of the car when they went around the curve giving them plenty of time to start emergency braking before, but they wasted all that time wanting to hit the car before doing anything.
You obviously don't know a single thing about how trains operate. The train was thrown into Emergency before striking the car, it can take a Mile for a massive freight train like that to fully come to a stop. And the crew wasn't deliberately wanting to strike the car, they couldn't do anything but hit the breaks and then simply wait for the train itself to come to rest. Don't make ridiculous assumptions upon things you don't know about..
Trains are miles long with different weight in each car and add all together it's a lot even in full emergency the engineer and conductor can only wait till the train stops, the reason trains don't stop quickly is because of 3 factors weight, speed and amount of cars the train has the factor in the stopping distance
@@supermariotransitfan1662 Sorry if I hurt your huge train ego, but I was just shocked at how slowly the train decelerated if at all. There are plenty of other videos out there on heavy trains doing 50+ mph having an emergency brake application and coming to a stop much quicker than what is shown here. I was just expressing a concern I had about how late the emergency brake was applied and how little affect it had. Pardon me for blaming the train crew, that was premature.
1:36 hell is Chiyu's Nathan K5LA Healin good pretty cure
Chulada de video
That's terrible! Nice to know that no one was injured. Sorry, but your description doesn't make any sense.
Set up on purpose
I think that car was stuck
I liked how the cars in line behind her turned and got the hell out of there
Definitely an insurance scam
Amazing (really!) how quickly the train was stopped. I figured at that speed, it would have gone a lot further beyond.
It's amazing nowadays once they going to emergency braking how quick they can bring that thing to a stop. Years ago you throw into emergency braking it would take almost a half a mile to bring it to a complete stop at that speed especially on the old geeps and F units
"And now we waitt for the insurance claim"
Noo
😢
Play chicken with a train you will always loose big!!!!!
THE TRAIN ALWAYS WIN, TAKES ABOUT A MILE TO STOP ONE!
Not in this scenario
I still can't figure out how so many vehicles get stuck on the tracks. At most the train is 10 ft. wide... enough to step out of the way in 2 steps . Now I understand when the road isn't built for low-boy trucks the crossing should be properly graded of immense signs.
Excellent video
A train hitting a car is like a semi hitting a bicycle.
Insurance fraud? I just don't understand how a car will stall in the middle of a crossing
Classic insurance fraud.
3:55 Lucky catch! Woman could not put her car in Neutral and push her car forward out of foul? How long was her car stuck there? No one to helpusher car off the track? Glad that she walked where not hit by debris. How long did itake for police to arrive? Any updates about why her car was on the crossing?
☕️
She wanted to collect insurance before it was repoed
BEAUTIFUL HIT!!! She deserved it!! Smart people DON'T let this happen. How long have trains been around??????????
I like
The train was moving slowly she did that purposly
I bet that really messes up a train crews day especially if there is a death involved. Have a great weekend everyone 😀
Yes, it surely does. Many get PTSD from seeing the faces of a trapped child... and never drive again.
What's ptsd?
@Duriel Shepherd, the eternal battle continues, train vs car!
Those are great catches. Very unfortunate that you to witness a train hitting a car though.
Lol, was that an insurance scam? Was that lady walking away the driver? She looked awfully casual..
