Just found your channel. I’m from Linn! I live in Joplin now, but visit home from time to time. Great content!
Thanks for sharing your very cold but productive day in the water
You bet. Appreciate you watching!
Awesome vid Randy. Love the on the water teaching videos here locally. Thanks for all that you do
Appreciate it, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Also, another great idea for a on the water video! 🐟🐟🐟🐟
@@jackdixon4530 Thanks Jack!
What color of jig and color of your trailer?
@@jackdixon4530 Jewel spider jig, brown and black with a green pumpkin trailer… tips dipped in orange.
You were definitely getting frustrated. Turned out great after all.
Most definitely!
Great part 1. Lots of great info.
Thanks for watching! More to come.
Randy, cuss all you want. Hell, you're fishing in10 degree weather! Besides, I'm a Navy vet lol. Another fine video.
Appreciate it Mike, and thank you for your service!
Lots of nuggets in this one. I need to get out of the Glaize and expand.
Yep! The location of the fish, with the relatively full pool, was the biggest AHA moment for me.
💓🎣😊
Really good video and information, looking forward to part 2.
Appreciate it, stay tuned!
Randy what did you think about the Vexus?
@@grantdenbow OMG…. after 5 years in my flat bottom jet, that Vexus was like a Cadillac on water! Smooth as silk, steady and stable. Can’t say enough good things about it!
That was a very thoughtful retirement gift your father gave you.
@@tharris4718 indeed!
Good reply Randy. Keep up the good videos! 🐟🐟🐟🐟
Thanks, I appreciate it!
I will put that tip on mono leader to work! Thanks
Good luck! I think you’ll like it. More time fishing and less time messing with snags.
Nice,but ooooh cold
Yep! It was pretty chilly.
Love going out and scoping brush piles with a rigs at lake of the ozarks. But Jeff is a great guy I’ve meet him a couple times and done tournaments against him.
Good guy indeed!
Thanks for watching. For the Livescope shamers, friendly reminder that Jeff is a professional guide who’s paid to put people on fish. Appreciate your opinions but zero tolerance for hate here… Thanks!
Well..... haters no... opinions?
Any issues with the Karavan trailer?
@@Milly81728 none.
Good to hear. Love your rig set up. Thx
Have you done any videos of your tin rig set up?
Disregard, I found the video.
5 or 6 Shad Rap Randy? Again totally agree on the a rig
@@bigguy7618 that was a #6.
What color shad raps are you using?
@@rosssciascia5366 basic shad and crawdad patterns. The specific one I threw Sunday had a little chrome tint to it.
What size jet you run?

Nice job Randy! Your enthusiasm is top notch.
Appreciate it Mike!

That’s an Eberlin boat! Nice choice! Love your videos
It is. Thank you!
Love the boat. What brand?
Thanks! Lowe 1860 Roughneck
Huge "E" for the effort Mr. Doman.
Appreciate it!
Another great video. I was wondering why you didn't mention how big that Spot was when you caught it.
Yep. Was a little distracted.
Back in the day, your guide only fished for the bigger bite. Didn’t catch many but the weights were OK!!!LOL 😊❤🎣🎣
I remember well!
Great job Randy. Love the videos
Thanks Cody!
I probably would have watched the whole thing but y'all couldn't keep from cussing 😔
Im just like ya on the a rig,ive got sum really small ones i made, bout the size of 2 big sb put together,i put the 2" keitecs on em,not as good as the regular makeup, but itll just have to do.they are pretty good around docks or if u have alot of cover.i also rig em on 1/0 ewgs texsposed, and slo the hookset letem kind of waller around in it for a sec.i also throwem on a good mh/h,or a heavy cb rod
Good tips. Thanks!
Huge spotted bass! Congrats!
Thank you!
Putting that 7’6” Eternity to use!
@@danbliss7816 you bet! It worked great. I’ll do a “3 Takeaways” video on shad rapping soon and will be sure to give some love to the custom rod! If you have a link to a website, I’ll be sure to include that in the video as well. Thanks Dan!
Good vid. I like the way you edit. Looks like you changed to bigger trebles on your shad rap which can make it stay down better on the pause. in the "old" days we used to wrap a little lead wire around the hook shank.
@@BodeknockerBrumbill good eye! Upgraded to #4s and it helps with better casts, slowing the float, and increasing the hook ups.
Anytime you fish a tournament and get your money back is a good day, plus bonus of good box lures make’s it worthwhile to get out early on cold mornings, good job!!!
@@mobasser amen! That lure kit is really, really nice! Some high quality tackle in there.
Could you do a walk around of your boat set up?
Your videos and information get better each time! 🐟🐟🐟🐟
@@jackdixon4530 appreciate it Jack. Just like fishing, trying to get better each and every day… 👍

Great video Randy. Love that big KY. Biggest one I've seen. Congrats, bud.
@@chrishimstedtfishing4602 thanks Chris! By far, the biggest one I’ve caught or seen! LOZ has some dandies!
What size jet motor you ruining?

Gotta love that Gasconade! I don't know if you've ever fished the Big Piney, but it's a Smallie haven for sure. Keep up the good work.
Appreciate it Mike. I love the Big Piney. Had some great days there but my 18’ jet is usually a little too big for that river.
Oh, I know. I fished it out of my kayak. I put in at Sandy Shoal and fish to Boiling Springs. One trip I caught 22 smallies and had the river to myself.
Great video! I have recently found your page and really enjoy your content. Me and my sons have fished the gasconade a little bit. Is this section of the river deep enough to get around in a boat with a prop?
@@tommerli239 appreciate the support! There’s several shoals less than 12” deep all throughout that stretch of river. Jet boats and canoes/kayaks are about all I see here.
@ I appreciate the response thank you! Looking forward to more of your videos.
Enjoyed the video. Have you ever fish Lake Wappapello here in southeast Missouri?
@@fishingjunkie849 I have not. Toured it once or twice when I worked for the Corps 30 years ago, but never fished it.
@@randydomanoutdoors225 dang it lol I was going to ask for some pointers this lake is tough during winter or anytime the yr.
Have you caught crappie on the Osage? Any tips? I just found your channel.
@@salinger007 I haven’t tried, yet. But there are crappie on it and I may try them later this winter. Not sure exactly where they school up, but I’ll start looking around some of the deeper logs/trees in the water.
@@randydomanoutdoors225 thanks - enjoy your videos!
@@salinger007 appreciate it and thanks for watching!
Really enjoy your videos. Would be cool if you did a rod and reel arsenal video sometime as well. Looks like you really like Abu bait casters and Bass Pro rods. Curious of what line you like to use.
Appreciate it Matt. Yeah, I seem to have several of both, mostly because they’re reasonably priced, durable, and as long as I keep them reasonably clean and oiled, they’ve held up over the years.
I live 500 yards off the Gasconade river here by Boiling Springs camp ground. The river is beautiful this time of year but not a whole lot of water the last few years. My wife and I kayak it a lot and the Big Piney since the mouth of it is like a mile up river from us. We have not taken our river boat out in a few years. Good luck and tight lines.
I know exactly where that’s at! The boys and I camped often at Boiling Springs when they were little. You’re in some of the best smallmouth fishing anywhere in the Midwest!
