for anyone struggling to find it, you can copy the id and click ctrl f and search the data

You can also copy the ID and use the "Find" button on registry so you don't crazy searchiing for 3 hours for the virus hahaha

When i delete it it doesnt work and it just comes right back when i open registry editor back up

mine was in a different file location but I ended up finding it so your method still works in september 2024

use combo cleaner it helps the most

I can simplify the Registry editor 1. Find the extension and the ID of that extension 2. Then open up Registry editor 3. Do CRTL+F and paste the ID on the box that pop up 4. The box will be highlighted if not just find the one that has the similar ID 5. Now delete it since it’s the virus 6. Then check chrome if it’s gone

Hello there, I have the same problem. I tried to remove them in Registry Editor, but it gave me the error. I cannot delete all specific values. I hope you may respond to my comment as a help.

Hey guys I hope the creator pinned me or something. So first to find the extension that you want to delete you go to the extension page and in the right corner at the top you click developer mode then under thoseextensionst doesn't let you delete you copy the ID that is under. Then the ID that you copy you can search on the registry editor (CTRL+F). Usually, that’s under Google in extension. If you face this problem you try to delete it but it says “ERROR KEY” or something like that lol, DO THE FOLLOWING: 1) You need to right-click in the file “Google” and then click on “permissions” 2) Then hit the “advanced” button 4) On the top, it would be in blue and says “change” 5) Then in the description box, you put “everyone”, click on “check names” and then you click on “ok” 6) Now you would have to check the two boxes, one is on top and the other is on the bottom that say “replace all child object…” 7) Then you hit apply and apply again. Now you can delete those extension without the error. I hope this helps you all :)

for anyone wondering, the re-installing part of this extension its almost certainly in the directory "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome\ExtensionInstallForcelist" delete everything inside, if you cant find the extensions you can search the id using edit>find or ctrl+F

Simple and easy than the complicated thing you do go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome\ExtensionInstallForcelist and erase all the files inside it except default

OMG I DID IT. FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO WHEN TRYING TO DELETE THE KEY IN REGISTRY IT SAYS ‘can’t delete keys’, DO THIs: Right click, go to Permissions.. Click advanced Click new user In that box you’re gonna put ‘administrator’. Then check name. Should accept Click the checkbox at the top. And the bottom one too (child whatever). Apply then OK You should be able to delete it with no worries If u didn’t understand what I said just search up ‘how to get permission to delete key in registry’. I’m tryna recall what I did

Also you can use everything software, that literally finds anything on your computer in just a second. Copy the name of an extension in the search bar and delete anything, that contains that name. Can help

well I found it in Computer\HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1163294196-2679944373-2738838650-1001\Software\Google\Chrome\PreferenceMACs\Profile no.\extensions.settings

If it still says this browser is managed by an organisation, go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google and delete the whole folder named “chrome” by right clicking on it. The chrome folder should appear under a “Google” folder and “Policies”. Hope this helps
