Wow that walk looked so peaceful! Back when I used to live in Maryland (moved to Florida now to escape the cold!) I loved going to D.C. and walking around the historic sites there!

Looks like a lovely stroll out on the town. We love going for night walks in the summer and long drives in the winter with the kiddos looking at the scenery or snow when it comes ❤

Foundations phonics is more 1st grade in my opinion

Stepping Stones and Simply K just isn’t for us either. I really liked their science, and will probably use it again for my 1st grader next year.

Soooo... I went crazy and bought a ton of MB curriculum for my 4 boys. There is too much reading for my younger ones. However I do love the science and history they offer. We use teaching textbooks for math now, all about reading, and night zookeeper. If you haven't used night zookeeper it is AMAZING! My autistic son is now writing his own stories, it has been a huge success.

I love that you recognized Master Books wasn’t a good fit for your kiddo and made the switch.

We took a pause on the phonics. Had the switched to all about reading level 1 and its a huge difference. My son is a kenistetic learner so is been amazing. We'll use foundation phonics as a review from where we left off.. I'm holding off on More Than Words for 1st grade cause it just didn't work well for kindergarten. Great overview in this video.

We used Masterbooks Science, History and Math this year. We will only be keeping the math for next year. Masterbooks is a wonderful curriculum, but it just wasn't a fit for our family.

We have finished very few. And of the ones we have...sometimes we finish it the next year (If I really like it and JV enjoys it).

We use Masterbooks My Story for 1st grade.
