You get what you pay for. No sane person buys a pair of socks and expects to get the shoes for free. Ripping out old windows and jambs, reframing, weather sealing, caulking and adding new exterior trim and possibly interior trim as well is a lot of work and expensive. Those cheapest of looking vinyl windows installed leads me to the conclusion that the homeowner wasn't paying for anything "extra". Or as i heard it from the owner of taylor maid kit n bath cabinets, it doesn't have to work it just has to look like it does.
Can't believe anyone be okay with that 😮
You'd be surprised..
they must have been build badly. My parents house in the UK is over 400 years old and its chimney are fine.
English are just better at everything
Oh yeah. Thats my spot! I can still see the TV.. lol
Ya?? I love my basement toilet, except mine is in the corner of the room.
😂😂
It’s clearly just a rotted out section and they stuck it through because they didn’t care
So, un what building code are you following that states that these Jack posts are not meant to be permanent? Are you a contractor, architect, or what? (Home inspectors do not require certifications, or any background in building code/construction where I live,).. so I am very curious as to your reasons why these are not meant to be permanent. Please cite the building codes (current, and from the time the house was built) that support your statement.
The manufacturers install instructions..
I have one in my basement 😢 who do i contact? An architect 😢
A structural engineer
They probably didn’t want to spend an extra $1000 on some snobby prick to do what is a diy job. No water leak and the person didn’t get electrocuted… that’s a win in my book.
😂
Okay, we get it's wrong, but your delivery could not be more condescending. I don't know, but I don't feel yelled at after watching the other channels after watching it.
Duh! Haven't you ever been on a roller-coaster? The dip in the pex makes the water flow faster so you have a fire hydrant at the faucet. You inspectors dont know nothing😂 Physics man physics.
You missed the worst part, that electrical job is feeding (what looks like) a 30 amp outlet with (what looks to be) 12/2.
Give it a rest, dude. That looks fine. What child? This basement looks creepy af no child would play in there on their own volition.
When did your house burn down?
I lived in a house that had these in American Fork, Utah about 1966.
here let me translate this.... "if youre poor...dont try to stop that leak...just let it ruin your house.....maybe dont eat for 2 months so you can afford to buy the materials to do this job then dont eat for another 4 months to pay someone to fix this....just stop being poor...."
Flex seal is a TEMPORARY REPAIR material, not a BUILDING material.
Facts!
How much does it cost to hire someone to flash just that section? I need to do mine soon..
Any type of work is expensive
I would get a few quotes
Who gives a shit if you get a few more years of no leaks?
But they saved so much time by not pulling the siding.
AMEN! I hate when people glob that junk on top of a problem.
Missing the point of flex seal.
the crunching you can hear as he is walking is him making the problem worse...
unless you have a license you can't use a drone for commercial purposes. Huge fine, possible jail.
I'm a DIYer. I obviously don't know everything but I know more than nothing. I'd have done a better job than this.
That looks more like a home owner buddy deal not a electrician
😂 that's entirely possible!
The only thing here is that looks ugly and lazily done. Romex by code does not need to be in a conduit. Its already in a protective sheath. Dont hire that guy again.😂
Big deal
Up to the home owner if they want to fix it 🤷♂️
That was not a qualified electrician
Why is it all inspectors obviously dont understand the things theyre paid to inspect. If that coated wire is in danger of the stove heat, the wall would also be in danger. By your logic the stove needs to be moved away from the entire wall. If the stove is going to burn through coating that wall and conduit are ash too.
All inspectors is a reach. The main concern, as stated, was the possibility of physical damage. It sounds like you're familiar with the SOP of inspectors.
That ain't nothing I have a stove electrical outlet that passes through the back of a shower what's water pipes the outlet was placed on the floor so guess what happened when the winter came in one of the pipe burst
Water pipes and electrical circuits can run through the same wall.
The fire alarm beep at the end told me all I needed to know lol
Hahahaha sooooo ridiculous! This guy make the worst of it hahahah😂😂😂! I'm a electrician by the way
They will FINGER it out pretty quick not to mess with a hole when the lights dimmed for a second and your finger is black and hurty.
So we not going to talk about how hes coked out look at his eyes and him shaking so much as a ex addict and a functioning one at that ik the look
Don’t use that widow maker stick. I learned at 16 those are dangerous
It’s not that big of a hole after the cable is in the ko. A kid might be able to put their pinky in the hole but that would still be pushing it. The main hazard is that wire is subject to physical damage being surface mounted like that more than a kid trying to stuff his finger in the hole. So the question is how are you going to address the code violations that are here?
Boomer parent! " they'll only touch it once!"
I lived in a house with the wires were on the outside ran in pairs about 4 in apart on ceramic insulators. The insulation was mostly gone so you don't just reach around and try to turn the light off unless you can see the switch, if you touch the wires it hurts.
Safety hazard, yes Fire hazard, not really. Not unless you’re doing some pretty nefarious activities
Like a kid shoving things in there. Another thing is as electricity flows the wires actually do move. Without something securing them we they will run a hole in the insulation and short out. Our house had fuses still until I updated and they weren't consistent when they blew. Had one blow and fuse the thing together which meant it no longer acted as a fuse. I consistencies and failures like that will absolutely cause a fire. So those box connectors? They secure the wire to keep things out and keep it from rubbing through the insulation.
We call that a learning opportunity
GenX for life! 😂😂😂😢😂😂😂
my kid would fill it with Legos
Hot stick smock stick
What?
Whoever put that plate on should have fixed it. I don’t want to see cloth wire anywhere.
The generation that installed that, is most likely not watching UA-cam shorts lol
And has space to add some more water taps
You know what would be 'good'? Not having plastic pipes for your health.
Looks dumb if you ask me....😂
Way undersized and pressure imbalance will be a problem!!😮
when an electrician designs your water distribution
