1 Timothy 2:10 For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do. Luke 7:47 “I tell you, her sins-and they are many-have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.” Romans 8:26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. John 16:9 9 The world’s sin is unbelief in me

❤ Luke 6:40 Students are not greater than their teacher. But the student who is fully trained will become like the teacher. Titus 3:1-2 Saved in Order to Do Good 1 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, 2 to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. 1 Peter 4:8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. 1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. “Nothing is more profound than mercy. I desire mercy and not sacrifice” (Hosea 6:6 ). James 2:13 There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you. Jude 1:22 And indeed, have mercy on those who doubt; 2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Don't you understand that Jesus Christ is in you? Unless, of course, you fail the test Romans 9 16It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. 17For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” 18Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. 23What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory- 24even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

The sin is unbelief. The reason believers can’t sin anymore is because we believe in Jesus and his sacrifice for us and all our other sins have been forgiven even if we slip up in our flesh from time to time we have an advocate if we have Faith. Hebrews 3:12 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 1 John 3:20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. John 16 The Work of the Holy Spirit 5“But now I am going away to the one who sent me, and not one of you is asking where I am going. 6Instead, you grieve because of what I’ve told you. 7But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. 8And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. 9The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me. 10Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more. 11Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged. 12“There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. 1 John 3:9 Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.

I think we get confused as to which law we are under in Christ. Romans 3:27 Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. Romans 6:14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. Galatians 2:19 For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law-I stopped trying to meet all its requirements-so that I might live for God. Hebrews 11:6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

This study is when everything changed for me . Jesus asks us who do you say that I am ? I could say I was baptized/born again at this point. 😊 Matthew 16:15-17 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven 1 John 4:15 All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.

Love this topic. Also we need Jesus to study scriptures. Guided by his Spirit and wisdom to help us understand . ❤ Isaiah 8:16 Preserve the teaching of God; entrust his instructions to those who follow me. 1 John 2:27 But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true-it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. John 15:9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. John 13:13 You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. Luke 24:25 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. Hebrews 1:2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.

People who put their trust in the Bible have a lack of trust in their own intuition. They doubt themselves. They don't realize that the Bible was written by Men who knew less than they know now. They are looking for answers from some authority not realizing that being a child of God that they are the authority. To communicate with God, just quiet yourself and listen.

John 7:16-18 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but His ( God's ) that sent me. If any man will do His ( God's ) will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh His ( God's ) glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

The New Testament Scriptures tell us how to be saved. There, you will NOT find the man-made, denominational mantra of, “We are saved by faith alone in Jesus. Just invite Jesus into your heart as your personal Savior and pray the sinner’s prayer” (a prayer that is also NOT found in the Scriptures). Instead, Jesus and His apostles go much further than that and issue specific commandments for salvation that are presented here with example Scripture references from the KJV. If you are truly interested in learning how to be saved, then please read on… 1. HEAR THE GOSPEL: First Corinthians 15:1-4; Mark 3:10; Romans 10:14. 2. BELIEVE THE GOSPEL: John 3:16; Acts 16:31; First Corinthians 15:1-4. Faith, believing on Jesus, is certainly a highly important commandment, but it is by no means the only commandment for salvation. 3. REPENT OF YOUR SINS: Acts 3:19; Luke 13:3. 4. CONFESS BEFORE MANKIND THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD: Matthew 10:32-33; Romans 10:9-10. 5. BE BAPTIZED FOR REMISSION OF SINS: Acts 2:38; Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:3-4; Galatians 3:27; First Peter 3:21. Though sinless, Jesus commanded baptism and was also baptized as our example, so it’s a most essential part of the salvation process. 6. LIVE A CHRISTIAN LIFE BY SERVING CHRIST: Hebrews 5:8-9; Matthew 7:21; John 14:15; Second Thessalonians 1:7-9. Think you can be saved like the thief on the cross? While on earth, Jesus had power to forgive whomever He willed, for the New Covenant had not yet gone into effect. We today are under the authority of the New Covenant, which includes these commandments for salvation. Therefore, we cannot be saved in exactly the same manner as the thief on the cross. Ultimately, we are saved through the sacrificial blood of Jesus (Revelation 1:5), BUT, we only have access to His saving blood by obeying His commandments for salvation. Don't ever try to debunk these commandments with Ephesians 2:8-9. “Saved by grace through faith” means that we cannot earn salvation by our good deeds or personal works alone. Jesus saves us through His grace as a gift to those who have faith enough in Him to obey His commandments, which are certainly NOT personal works. As Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15 KJV). It's really mind-boggling how quickly many alleged Christians reject Jesus’ commandments for salvation and prefer man-made, denominational doctrines. As Jesus said, "Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men" (Mark 7:7 KJV). “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46 KJV). If you really want to be saved, then do what Jesus tells you to do. It’s just that simple.

I don’t see how this exactly applies to this video. He’s talking specifically about how to live in/figure out God’s Will, which is a question many Christians (among others) have. None of this “debunks” the Ephesians reference you mentioned. The thing is, a one minute video can only convey so much and I would think this specific video would spark an interest to find out more either by listening to the full podcast episode or full sermons from Redeemer. If you were to check out their other videos (sermons, podcasts, shorts…), I think you would find much more agreement than you might think. But that’s my opinion at least 🤷🏻‍♂️

It also confirms the truth of the Gospel & Jesus. His predictions are coming true. No one on Earth could have known all the future but Christ. And even in the predictions of John, Paul, & Peter, it was the Holy Spirit given by Christ, who said the Holy Spirit would tell them the things that Christ gave to him for us to know.

31:04 “if God desires all people to be saved, how do we make sense of the fact that not all people are saved?” It’s a simple answer, even though it’s widely missed. And the answer is that you’re reducing a 3-step process down to one word, “salvation.” And it’s not a 1-step thing. 1. God forgives all people because he wants all to be saved. 2. Man chooses whether to surrender and accept God’s grace or to arrogantly reject God. 3. To those who surrender, God grants eternal life. That’s the answer.

30:00 the version you’re reading leaves out the key word “also” from Eph 1:11. Paul is teaching that the Gentiles have also been predestined, along with the Jews, so that everyone is predestined. If you leave out the “also” (which is KAI in the original Greek) you can misunderstand this chapter, as is done in this video
