As an amateur pianist and lucky owner of an Yamaha AvantGrand N1 - the best replacement for a grand piano if you live in a flat - I am trying to cope with some of my favorite classical pieces.
Recently I also bought a wonderful Yamaha GB1K. Playing these two great instruments is so much fun!
I hope you will enjoy my videos...

D. Scarlatti: Sonata in A Major, K. 343
Here is my amateur version of Scarlatti's fabulous and unfortunately not very well known sonata No. 343 in A Major, played on my Yamaha GB1K and recorded with a Behringer UMC404HD audio interface and two matched Behringer C2 microphones.
Hope you enjoy it!

D. Scarlatti: Sonata in E-Flat Major, K. 253

It's been a long time since I posted my last video. My job has been very demanding lately and I had too little time to practice or record. For me as an amateur pianist, its very hard to accomplish Scarlatti's demanding and wonderfully written sonatas with technical perfection but it's definitely worth a try. Here is my version of his sonata K. 253 in E-flat major. I hope you enjoy it! I played ...

Scarlatti created with his sonatas a world of its own. For me as an amateur pianist, its very hard to accomplish these demanding and wonderfully written pieces of music with technical perfection but it's definitely worth a try. Here is my version of his sonata K. 466 in f minor. I hope you enjoy it! I played on my Yamaha GB1K baby grand. For recording, I used my Behringer UMC404HD Audiointerfac...
Scarlatti: Sonata in D Minor, K. 517

Lately, I have been fighting with Scarlatti's wonderful but fiercely difficult Sonata K. 517 which is supposed to be played "prestissimo". The technical quality in my interpretation is still not where it should be. Many notes are missing and all these fast runs and broken chords don't have the quality I desire. Since my practice time is quite limited as an amateur with a demanding full time job...

Scarlatti created with his sonatas a world of its own. For me as an amateur pianist, its very hard to accomplish these demanding and wonderfully written pieces of music with technical perfection but it's definitely worth a try. Here is my version of his sonata K. 12 in g minor - a very interesting piece with lots of crazy ideas and wild repetitive patterns. Recorded with my Yamaha GB1K, two Beh...

Here's my amateur version of the Prelude and Fugue in d minor from Bach's Well Tempered Clavier Book I (BWV851). Recorded with my Yamaha GB1K, two Behringer C2 mics and Focusrite's Scarlett 2i2.

Here's my amateur-approach to Bach's Prelude and Fugue in c minor from WTC 1. Hope you like it. Please excuse the bad video quality from my potatoe-camera 🙄. It's been already kind of dark in the room which lead to a noisy picture. I recorded this video on my wonderful Yamaha GB1K with two Behringer C2 mics and a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 with GarageBand.
Rachmaninow: Études-Tableaux, Op. 33 No. 5 (8)
Переглядів 1,7 тис.6 років тому
Rachmaninow's Études-Tableaux are wonderful dreamy and technically demanding pieces. As an amateur pianist, there are only few of them technically accessible for me. No. 5 (or 8 - depending on how they are counted) in g minor is such a beautiful and on the same time somewhat playable piece of art. Here is my version of this etude, played on my Yamaha GB1K. Please try to overhear the technical f...
Scarlatti: Sonata in D Minor, K. 9

Scarlatti has written such wonderful Sonatas. One very nice and musically interesting example from my point of view is definitely his Sonata in D Minor, K.9. I have been working on this little miniature recently and recorded it today with my wonderful Yamaha GB1K baby grand. I hope you like the style of this recording. For those who are interested: I recorded the audio track of this video with ...
Scarlatti: Sonata in E Major, K. 135

Although I am pretty satisfied with my wonderful Yamaha AvantGrand N1, I still wanted to own a real acoustic grand piano. Two months ago I was lucky and found a beautiful Yamaha GB1K baby grand, with a resonant sound and a very precise and responsive action. Now I am owning an AvantGrand N1 and a GB1K acoustic grand. So here we go... My first recording with my new Yamaha GB1K: Scarlatti's wonde...
Chopin: Etude Op. 10 Nr. 12 in C minor, "Revolutionary"
Переглядів 16 тис.7 років тому
This is me playing the wonderful Revolutionary Etude from Chopin's Op. 10 on my Yamaha Avantgrand N1. This version is far from flawless, but for me as an amateur player with a full-time job it is not easy to get enough practice time :-) This video contains music by F. Chopin in the public domain - it has been recorded by myself and does not contain any third-party audio content!
Chopin: Etude Op. 10 Nr. 5 in G-flat major, "black keys"
Переглядів 10 тис.9 років тому
This is me playing Op. 10 No. 5 - the famous black key etude - on my Yamaha AvantGrand N1. That's the best version, I could produce. Maybe after some more months of practice, it get's a little more "brilliante" and "legatissimo" ;-) This video contains music by F. Chopin in the public domain - it has been recorded by the channel holder and does not contain any third-party audio content!
Chopin: Etude Op. 10 No. 9 in F-minor

I am buying Yamaha n1 piano. How would you describe its action compared to a real grand piano? Does it feel like a real grand piano action?
Nicely done, but I think tempo is a bit too fast…
Bravo , nice jab .... 👏👏👏
A beautiful rendition of Scarlatti‘s Sonata! Your articulation is clear and accurate, not easy to play! Subscribed for more 👍🏻🎶
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it 😊
Absolutely not and I am sure you will play it much more professionally than me since you are going to be a music graduate 😮👍
Is it bad for me to say that I’m currently studying for my ATCL diploma and I’m yet to actually play a Scarlatti piece 😅😂
The articulation with the ornamentation is sublime 😍
Thank you very much, Gary! I really appreciate it 😊
I was going to click a like only to realize that I already did a long time ago.
Блестящее и мастерское исполнение.👏👏👏👍👍👍 Благодарю 🙏. А что за модель инструмента yamaha а дальше...?
An absolutely smashing performance. Thank you. However, it's easy to see why digital pianos can never replace acoustic versions, especially when it comes to pieces like this being performed.
Wonderful! I’m amateur too and I’m waiting for a Yamaha gb1k, I hope play in the future some Scarlatti’s sonates like you
I’m glad I have found you again… beautifully played
Sounds bad
Seeeehr gut 👍🏼 💖
Can i ask how long do you play the piano? Its beautiful!
You play like a concert pianist with this digital piano if given a yamaha cfx grand piano I believe you can perform like a pro 👍
Too good...Wanna hear more etudes of Chopin, namely 10/2,10/4,25/3,25/5,25/8 and 25/11❤ P.S.:25/5(Wrong Note) and 25/11(Winter Wind) are my favourites😌
That was magnificent, outrageous, outstanding, enrapturing and captivating. Please, keep posting videos. Kudos from Spain.
Initially I thought a bit fast but... Man you nailed every note with beautiful expression. A very worthy rendition. Ps I've played the n1x and it is astonishingly good digital piano. The action allows for so much subtlety. Alas the price tag makes it only a dream for now.
Your playing is wonderful but somehow, Yamaha does not manage to produce acceptable sounds. As one of the best manufacturers of the planet, they really should come up with something way better than what they produced so far on the digital piano market... At least they should enable updating sound libraries. I would be glad to be able update my CLP 695 gp to have at least an acceprable sound ...Whatever, to my opinion you just deserve a CFX!!
Congrats on your effort in expressing Bach.
Lovely playing....thoroughly enjoy everytime I hear...and great sounding Piano...
Hi! You are so good! Would you recommend Yamaha N1 for a complete beginner or an upright like U1?
Thank you so much 😊 Regarding N1 vs. U1: both are very good. The N1 gives you a „grand feeling“ which the U1 as an upright doesn’t. But the U1 sounds great and is a real acoustic piano which still has its advantages. It depends also on your situation at home. If you have sensitive neighbors, the N1 might be a better choice 😉
Congratulations. Very nice, you are a very good pianist.
How do you compare this digital piano to acoustic grand piano especially playing classical music
I really enjoy this. Even the washing on the balcony looks so cheerful
Great job on this piece! I am curious what microphone you are using to pick up the sound. Whatever it is it's doing a good job.
non trovi dura la tastiera del n1 Yamaha?
no, la tastiera è leggera o pesante come un pianoforte a yamaha acustico
@@megahertz890 si vero
just buy a real cfx piano
This is one of my favorite musical pieces...u played it excellent! Thanks for sharing it.
Wonderful!! Well played
Sound of heaven, thank you young man you made my day.
I’m a beginner with an N1x and your video was very inspiring!
Whenever i feel frustrated about piano i just watch this video to remind me why i choose the piano
😂how are you now anyway?
a beautiful and memorising piece, played equally beautiful,
No need to apologise for your amateur playing, it sounds so great, clear, precise and so expressive! Love it!
such a nice job! very very nice!
Bravo!!
Fantastic playing. This study is not among the most difficult in terms of technical difficulty, but it is among those that require more stamina!
GREAT!
Thank you 😊
plaese play more chopin curious to see how chopin sounds on GB1K!!
I will do. Currently, I am practicing the revolutionary etude again 😀
yamaha n1x?
No, it’s just a N1 😀
In your channel you say, you are amateur, but this is absoluteley not amateur like! This is absolutely amazing! Very good!
Thank you :-)
I think you play very well! I really enjoyed your performances on the N1X, Wow! - I work for a Yamaha dealer and I manager piano sales, teach piano, write music, and perform. I am building out a new website and I am wondering if I could embed these performances on our new website? I think my customers would appreciate hearing your playing when shopping for avant pianos. Let me know!
Hola! Precioso sonido.... Tengo los c2 y el mismo piano... Los usas desde abajo del piano? Como microfoneas? Saludos desde Buenos Aires!
The tempo is not as even as it could be, but you're still getting there. Don't get discouraged. Challenging music requires so much practice until you know it well enough not to think about technique and are able to 'oversee' the music from outside yourself. Consider playing the piece in complete darkness (as if you were blind). This will help your ear to focus more and also requires you to know your landing notes well. Keep it up though, it has great potential. Best of luck to you!
Great! See my interpretation with the Casio hybrid piano: ua-cam.com/video/TkA8p44Zex8/v-deo.html
I like how the wind blew outside when he start to play
beautiful!
Thank you so much 😊
Outstanding. Did you think about any competitions?
Thank you 😊 Actually I already participated in the piano competition for outstanding amateurs in Paris and reached the semifinals. Since this was a wonderful experience, I am planning to enroll for the next competition in January 2021. Hopefully I find enough time to practice after work 😉
@@megahertz890 glad to hear it, cheers!
