    That Transaero 767 aircraft had been seized by Irish-based ORIX leasing, which owned the plane anx was receiving no payment from Transaero and so they intervened in Rimini on the 21st October 2015, when the passengers inbound from Moscow had just been offloaded. The passengers for the return flight of this aircraft went onto other flights as a result. Ever since, it remained in Rimini and 2 years later its spare parts were taken from it. The aircraft is now used for fire crew trainings and emergency simulations

    Did this EXACT journey to Oslo and back from Stockholm on 29th April this year, seen lots of deer and even a brown bear in Norway by the river glomma What got me about the trains was gap between seats and window and also the plastic either rubbish or sick bags but no sea sickness or turbulence on trains usually Also this is the crucial part for trip planning.... Left stockholm on time but arrived into Oslo an hour late. Going back to Stockholm from Oslo left 10 mins late and arrived back in Stockholm over an hour and a half late!! Thankfully flight home from Arlanda airport wasn't until the following morning but there's lots of stopping to allow other trains to pass, sudden maintenance works, changes of crew, wildlife on the tracks and delays are inevitable on this particular route. Definitely plan for delays as you need to for this one, its not Switzerland, Sj is nowhere near as punctual as SBB. All in all I had a good trip but would allow plenty of time for delays, its Scandinavia

      Yeah, reliability doesn't seem to great in Sweden, three long distance trains this year I've used have been heavily delayed or cancelled. This particular one was annoying as was looking forward to the views from the train. Sounds like you got lucky with seeing brown bear!

    which side of the train is worth to see always? here mostly left side is filmed mostly from Podgorica to Belgrade. Right side was not worth to see? So it means also, from Belgrade to Podgorica right side is worth to see, and left side is not worth seeing I suppose, correct? I just try to figure out which side seating will be the best in both routes "Belgrade to Podgorica", and "Podgorica to Belgrade". Or maybe sleeping room I should take?

    • @glasgowreports9710

    Under Virgin, you used to be able to get an advanced first class ticket between Glasgow and London for as little as £55 on quieter trips. Lowest I can ever find now now is twice that. They've also converted some first class coaches to standard premium which is basically a first class seat without any of the complimentary food and drink - costs £20-30 more than standard so not really great value for what is in effect only a slightly bigger seat. I think they've also stopped doing the cheapish weekend upgrades to first class.

    • @glasgowreports9710
      @glasgowreports9710 5 місяців тому

      Yeah, there is little chance I would pay full price for Avanti's first class product, considering the price and the difference in service it seems to have from various reviews. Funny that the standard premium now is what it often cost for first back in the day with Virgin.

    After Preston it certainly wasn’t normal service. No hot meal? And the sink full? Poor overall. I travelled the opposite run last November when I was over. Lovely breakfast and lots of hot tea. • @okwrite7120

      You want to try EMR if you think Avanti's not up to scratch. They have "enhanced" the 1st class service that the previous operators provided. You get a sandwich and snacks during the day, they seem to run out of the vegetarian option quickly, so no sandwich if you don't eat meat or that particular meat (in the case of ham sandwiches). No hot food. No alcohol. Breakfast if you can call it that is a bread roll with a sausage and a half, plus breakfast snacks- yoghurt and packet croissant. oh and they've got rid of all the crockery but I suppose they don't need it anymore with the enhancements.

On this train there is the option of 6 berth couchettes, 4 berth couchettes, 1,2 and 3 berth sleepers and seated accommodation (which I wouldn't recommend). • @jacquesmertens3369
      @jacquesmertens3369 8 місяців тому

      @@glasgowreports9710 The storm was battering the east coast, not the west coast. Uncertainty about the weather is not the same as a storm. I have been in a real storm and what you're showing isn't anything like it. Ferries are not allowed to operate during a storm. The absolute maximum is 8 Beaufort, and that's a strong gale, not a storm. Ferries will usually not sail if the wind speed reaches 6 or 7 Beaufort at departure. That makes it highly unlikely that anyone on any ferry will ever experience a storm.

    • @glasgowreports9710
      @glasgowreports9710 8 місяців тому

      @@jacquesmertens3369on the day we were travelling forecast was Beaufort 7/8 upon departure from Belfast, according to the Met Office. Wind gusts were high enough to reach 8 on the Beaufort scale, with peak recorded gusts of 52kts at the end of Belfast Lough. I have however updated the description to better describe that the heart of the storm was a considerable distance away, and we were merely experiencing some of impacts from it :)

    • @jacquesmertens3369
      @jacquesmertens3369 8 місяців тому

      @@glasgowreports9710 The path of a storm is very local and very unpredictable. Wave height is the determining factor. Local gusts have no influence on it. In order to create high waves you need consistent wind over a very large area. Based on your video footage I estimate the waves to be 3-4 m, not more. That's maximum 6 Beaufort. If the waves were 9-10 m you wouldn't be able to stand outside without holding on to the railing, and even then you'd struggle not be swept straight into the sea. To give you an idea what a real storm on a ferry (highly exceptional !) is like: furniture would be all over the place, there would be broken glass everywhere, everything not secured would be flying across the room, and even experienced staff would be throwing up. In the middle of the ship, on the lowest deck (the most stable point of a ship) it would feel like going 10 floors up and down in an elevator in a time span of 10 seconds. The staff would close all doors. You would never be allowed on deck. Consider yourself lucky you haven't been in that situation.

    Aah yes, the train/bus loud phone talkers. They're a nightmare. Also did you check the toilet? In my experience, always but always some idiot clogs the toilet by flushing toilet paper or some other stuff. Airplane toilets can manage that but bus toilets won't take long to get clogged.

      Yes I did, the toilet was not great on this bus but I have seen much worse before. Quite surprised it was in okay-ish condition considering the length the bus had travelled from Lyon.

    Why are those seats controversial?.

      There is a bit of debate over how comfortable the seats are, especially when used over longer journeys such as this one. Personally I don’t find them terrible but there are much better seats out there that could’ve been used instead
