In a nutshell the power supplies called the ark of the covenant are used to power up the pyramids to control our gravitational field and protect us from the sun, I say supplies because I do believe there are more than one! I do believe that they are also somehow used to produce our atmosphere as well, this explains many of the disasters over the course of history and many other occurrences that...

Nice one🎉😊
Nice one🎉😊
I’m thinking of buying these but after seeing the amount of people saying how they broke in that 1 part I’m sceptical do you think it’s still worth it?
planned obsolescence 100%
Good but instead of cutting ✂️ the wire and again soldering them you can just break the whole plastic part
Hello, I have the same headphones. My sis accidentally spilled chocolate milk on it and it got into the charging port. I did not charge it while it was wet and let it dried. It was still working great however when it turned low battery, it won’t charge anymore. The yellow light is not showing. I press the power button long enough to reset it, but it just won’t light up anymore too since then. Please I’m begging you, I just got this headphone not too long ago and idk what to do. I tried contacting Sony but idk where to get the 8 digit number in the headphone. There’s numbers on the left side of the headphone but it not any of them. Please help kindly sir.
Lets address the chocolate milk thing first, sugar in chocolate milk will coat the charging port and short it, it likely also got into the board area and corroded that as well. Send them to us and we can repair them, information in the more section above.
Either way you need to take it apart and clean the chocolate milk out of them, be very thorough!
Part of my headset broke. What is the best hard plastic adhesive
Hard plastic, do not use super glue of any kind it just makes a mess, you are better off using a hot iron or even a soldering iron and remelt the plastic, practice on something else first and use a filter box fan or very good ventilation as you dont want to breath the fumes, once you get it figured out you will be able to plastic weld with the best of them, after doing this you can use fingernail file or sand paper to smooth it out, paint also if you like.
Don't cut and soldier wires in hinge, use a extreme sharp needle. Push on corner of perpendicular section
do you know how to repair the bluetooth? it completely disconnects from my phone and app and turns off after a minute of playing but when i use the aux it works fine but without the boosted bass and noise canceling. i thought it was water damaged from sweat but the speaker work fine with the aux cord.
I have honestly never ran into one that the bluetooth did not work on, are you using the sony application? I would verify your phone does not have issues like maybe clean all the old stuff you connected via bluetooth in your bluetooth devices, try cleaning that first, the main board carries the bluetooth so you might want to look it over after purging old devices, try it on another phone also.
@@darkwarrior478 i’ve did all of that it still connects but disconnects after about a minute. i have to turn it on and on again to connect for it to turn off after a minute again
@@JoseRamirez-kd7qy Next to impossible to diagnose that type of issue without having them in front of me, something might be getting warm or shorting, try plugging it in to charge and pushing the power and options button at the same time to reset them, hold that down for about fifteen seconds and it will reset to factory settings.

Are you sure??? I bet there are literally tons of service members on the ship that drink coffee and they would argue that point!
Hi, any idea how to find this main internal wire PCB connector (16-pin female) online? The one which is connecting the left to the right side. I broke it while removing the wires one by one.
That is why I repair it the way I do, removing the pins from the connector is very tedious, not to say it can not be done but in my opinion is just as likely to break a catch on the socket for the wire as anything, I have done this myself, you usually can find a company that sells the parts to get one from, I have a bunch so send me an email and I can send you one.
@@darkwarrior478 Hi DarkWarrior478, Is it possible to get one sent as well?
Damn. Fuck Sony. I was considering some XM5's but not anymore
thank you for the video. i needed to see how to pop the ear pads off and i found that i cracked and deformed the plastic assembly for the driver. thankfully i put it back into place and its working just like before. thanks!
You can not just pull or go slowly with it, reach in with a spudger or similar tool and pry out in a smooth motion but feel what you are doing, i usually insert it by the top left of the pad and i have broken a couple in the hundreds and hundreds I have removed but they will go right back in place, hope this helps.
i would love to fix mine, are you in Canada?
No, the U.S.
is there a way to remove the hinge without having to solder?
Watch the video, answered there.
Mine silder is loose is it possible to fix that ?
There is a small piece of fabric that likely came out of it.
@@darkwarrior478 do you have a picture of that fabric or I can insert some fabric in there ?
@@AyushKumar-rg6jw Watch the videos and you will see it, i show that specific piece and likely comment on it.
Hi, I got my new paire of headphones XM5 juste 3 days ago, but I feel like the left ear on the headphones are tighter which is good but for the right ear I feel it less tighter, and that is bothering me, please you have a solution or you know the problem where is came Fromm ??
If its not broken I would leave it alone, you might return them if you really are bothered by it.
@darkwarrior478 I thought that there are different compartments in each ear that might make them slightly different
I have the same screaming issue in the right cup. If I replace that microphone, are there other microphones I should replace?
I was going to buy these at Costco, on sale this week for $400 CDN + 12% tax. I've changed my mind after discovering that they have a defective joint. For $200, I'd take a chance, but not for $450. Suck it, Sony.
This make more sense than most of the others. I would say this is spot on.
you look exactly like my dad bru what 😭
This is the content we need in the world!!!!!!!!!
I've replaced the NC mic in the left earcup and while it resolved the original problem (high pitch noise), now I'm having an imbalance in sound between L and R. The left now sounds a bit as if "overdrive" effect is applied. Can you advise?
Replace the right mic as well, make sure you have the polarity correct, positive to positive and negative to negative or it will negatively affect the sound.
What flux are you using. I can’t hear the name you say in the video.
amtech 559
how much do u charge to fix the xm4's if i pay for shipping ?
guess ripping the mic out would be a bad idea ?
Yes because it is used for noise cancellation.
cheap design
Yes it is, truly!
Watching this just makes me more pissed off with Sony. How absurd that their community has to study videos like this so we can repar their poorly designed product. Sony quoted me $150 to quote for the repair. It's scary to think what the repair cost would be on top of that. No doubt it would be more than the value of the headphones. I'm going to send mine to the country president and tell him he can have his plastic trash back.
We do this for much less than that, you just need the hanger repaired right? I replace the slider shaft part that breaks and really do not charge that much, 67.00 currently, see under more our email addy, send them to us and I have them repaired and back to you in no time.
The design looks to be deliberate so it would eventually crap out. I mean who in their right mind would use such cheap plastic material knowing the amount of stress put on it during regular use. Also, the fact that they made it so hard to repair basically tells you to buy a new one instead 😅
Great video. I was going to attempt this myself, but I may opt for a local repair shop instead
when i can buy replacement pivot for mines wh's?
Go on ebay and they have parts on there or send them to us, 67.00 total and that includes shipping.
Post a link to the tools you use, ie that black electric screwdriver
That one was a name brand and I am a bit rough on tools so it did not last more than a year, bought some that looked just like it but much less expensive, work just as well, will show them in next video.
I tried cutting and soldering the wire up in the arm instead of right at the connector, and while it made the soldering easier, the new side no longer extends up and down. Can still adjust with the other side. Your method is definitely better. Thanks for the teardown! Happy to at least have an intact pair again
I might make another video, I have changed the location of the repair to the middle of the slider shaft, it fits nicely and is out of sight, not sure if it is easier or not but it seems better overall!
God bless you fine sir! I had ordered the replacement arm bar before I even opened up my xm5's. I would have been lost without you and I never would have considered soldering. I thought I had to get pin extractors and replacement parts and the whole nine yards! 1mm shrink wrap tubing should arrive in the mail today. Wish me luck!
Have been successfully repairing these like this for over a year now and it is reliable, problem I ran into with pin removal was they dont always stay in the socket after reinstalling and that is not good, also found I broke the tiny locks quite often, this works very well in my experience!
@@darkwarrior478 I got the 1mm shrink tube but its shrink rate is only 2:1. I've measured the existing wires -- and even accounting for a little squish -- are around .37mm each. So I've ordered some .5mm shrink (1.7:1 shrink rate) I dont have much room to stagger the solder joints.
@@tspike7 You wont need to stagger them, as long as you keep away from connector by at least quarter inch you will be fine, they fold over nicely, not sure what my shrink rate is on shrink tube I purchased, bought a bulk lot of it in orange and white.
@@darkwarrior478 can you tell what gauge wire is being used? I may have messed up a bit. If I can extend the wires just a bit, I should be able to make it work (also give a bit more maneuverability) I have some small shielded wire but it’s prob 24 gauge and I don’t want impedance mismatching
@@tspike7 Have not had any issues with the 1mm shrink and in fact am very impressed with the shrink tube I purchased, it is very high quality heat shrink, you wont change the impedance enough to notice without measuring it, you get the wires mismatched and that is obvious though, much noise in one speaker.
Fuck sony ass
Hi Sir, thanks for the video. I got this model, and there is no sound coming from the right ear cup, though the left one is still working. What do you think is the reason for the problem? I checked the software and hardware and didn't find any issues. Thanks again!
Likely the speaker has failed, have had to replace quite a few of those, you can replace them but you will need to both solder and hot glue the speaker in place, email us if you need further assistance.
@darkwarrior478 I see, thanks for the quick reply!
I couldn’t figure out how to remove the slider from the band until i watched ur video. Thank you so much!!!!!!
Hi just wanted to let you know that my repair was a success!! it took nearly 4 hours because im completely new to soldering but im so glad that they work :)
Nice job, if you take your time and be careful you can do this and save yourself the money, if you run into an issue let us know and we can help, have a great day!!!
Did the sound quality took any hit
Thank you for showing this.
You are welcome!
new out of box pair and used less then 30 minutes and the right side is starting to separate on mine. Returning them.
Good plan, they will likely be coming out with new ones between spring and summer possibly.
how much do you charge for this?
We have the information to contact us in the details above under more, have a great day!
I'm glad I didn't drop the money on these things. I had the XM4 just long enough for the warranty to run out before it developed the well known squeal issue. I'm still using my Sennheiser 4.50BTNC purchased in 2017 that work perfectly and have only just replaced the ear pads on them. Would like to get a new set of cans but don't want a dud.
how did you solve the problem? i have an xm5 and i can hear hissing in my right ear(((.
Do you not recommend doing this on the right side? The battery is there so i was wondering if there was more that id need to know before i start tearing these down.
If you break them on the right side then you do that side, if left then do the left side, it is the same either way, we have repaired so many of these it is just common place now, send me an email if you run into trouble.
Hello I know this is an old post but my xm4 started to have bass imbalance on the right cup... which one of the mic needs replacement is it the internal mic (in the video) or the other one?
i have same problem. did you fixed that?
I have had to replace the whole speaker before when you get wierd bass noise so that is a possibility, look for damage on them, in that case you could buy another pair from online someplace to test with.
Thank you for this, where do you get the new piece? The replacement part I mean
You can find used ones on ebay and other sites, little searching brings results, search for sony wh-1000xm5 hanger, pivot or swivel, Happy New Year!
i bought mine on ali express its coming in about two weeks
I was so mad I had mine 7 months, and when I called Sony, thinking my warranty should surely cover their shitty build on these right?? You probably already know the answer, but check this out. The rep said "They were not designed to last so we can do a one time favor and give you $50 off another pair" 😦🤬🫢😣😣🤨 I couldn't believe she said what she said! All of it was mind blowing to me the fact that she was admitting these $350 headphones were not going to last even a year, or the BS $50 off *another* pair?? for what!? another 6 months? I was thinking I would never buy Sony again. I had the CH710 i think thats the ones forever, then got my son the newer version of those, so it was a no brainer to get these, it never occured to me to look so close at the build like this. I tried to fix them and couldn't so I am super happy to find this video, but damn! what the hell!!?? Who else was super pissed to find that this break happened to all of us?
It was not made very well in my opinion, thin plastic and a short piece of brass hold the swivel, not a good design!
Thanks for this story. I won't be buying them now. Suck it Sony.
Headphones are nothing inside shit , why these are too expensive
They will likely be coming out with xm6 series in couple months, might even have the test ones on for testing but do agree, Happy New Year!
how or where to buy the replacement microphone? is there a part number or somthing?
Go on ebay or some other place that has sony headphones for sale, it wont hurt to try other mics that size, I have used other ones from different locations on the headphones and they work properly.
I bought a pair of these brand new and I have seen this is a quite common problem. Do you have any tips to avoid this issue?
Avoid abuse with these, do not throw them around, do not sit on them, do not run over them with your car or child, they seem to be a bit on the weak side in that joint, that is my best advice!
Bro there is nothing you can do. I am a middle aged woman who takes super good care of her stuff, my Amazon $30 headphones last me 3-5 years, these stupid things lasted 7 months!! see my comment above to see what Sony told me about it, after waiting on hold to speak to someone at corporate. to make them last put them in the case and don't use them often I am so mad bc they're expensive, I could've got B&W or sennheiser or whatever if I knew, I always thought of Sony as av good company. I am so disappointed.
@@MsNeuroSpicEE Another detail I do notice is that people tend to twist them past the stops on the swivels, that is not a good idea either as it will wear on the joint over time and something will break.
Can you fix mine??
Yes I can and just send me a message at the email located under the video part that says "More".
Hi, I would f it up. I take my headphones and my glasses off with one hand, bad idea it turns out. Momentum 4's look durable; flexibility clip: ua-cam.com/users/clipUgkxq7OzF1Ai4BMBGtDR3uM0ZynIUUNrlOTU?si=J8wQ5K6Kh25qiWPW , if only the Momentum 4 had better ANC; from what I've seen on video. Maybe I'll have to go Bose Ultra? Extended warranty in my future$ I think Bose is standard 2 yr vs Sony's 1 yr. Note: Sennheiser sent me a renewed pairof PXC-550 after I screwed up a charging port almost 2 years in. I later bought Sony ANC and they broke eventually. PXC-550 still strong except after years the battery is dying. Great customer service. Thanks.
