So i want to get into climbing, does this place have lessons by chance. I know this is 2 years old, but this looks like it has nore to offer than some of the other places ive been looking at online. Or have any guy friend's who climb that could possibly teach me, or a group of people. Any other recommendations in or around the cincinnati area

Boyce is a great spot. I can’t wait to get out there again. As for yearly reflection.. I’m pretty new to climbing and got outside for the first time this fall. Yay!! Your videos were a huge help and motivator to take that step. It was worth it! Being outside with friends brought about a soul soothing I didn’t think was available to me anymore. Thanks for the boost of confidence, well made videos, and local know how!! Goal for 2025 is to make more climbing connections and share my love for the activity. I really enjoy climbing and how it makes me feel like part of a community!!

Very nice video. Over many years I have probably climbed there more than a dozen times, usually accessed by wading during low water. The rock is remarkably unspoiled, mostly toproping, not so much bouldering, and the island has a wild feeling; I don't remember ever meeting another party out there. I hope it never becomes popular - hey kids! Watch out for copperheads, ground wasps, and especially poison ivy near the shorelines. There are various other spots up and down Mather Gorge that are very secluded, both in the PATC guidebook and not, with a wide variety of difficulty. Explore! I will always love Carderock, but it is certainly a mob scene all too often, even though most of the climbing there is not very good for teaching beginners.

Great to see more people working their way over to Vaso. But there are no 5.3/5.4s on Hidden Slabs. You were on Knubble Wall. 🙂 I know the guidebook topo placements suggest otherwise. Also, Salad Bar was so-named because it used to be covered with vine-like plants. Once those were cleaned off, some fun climbing was discovered beneath.

Super nice park, really good setting. I thought the rubber was pretty friendly, instilled enough confidence to climb some of the harder stuff and put some decent effort in. My only real criticism is that I went on a Sunday mid day and there were a lot of younger kids that don't know climbing etiquette, nor did their parents, and there were no gym staff to help direct them to not climb problems that crossed into other problems, or run under you when you were climbing. Overall, really great facility, makes me jealous that I don't have one near me

That is so cool & great vid. Would say it’s a modernized Husky Climbing Rock in Seattle (first made mode left rock wall ins USA (1978). Shredded rubberized material reminds me of Vital Climbing Brooklyn roof top.

I was skeptical about an outdoor bouldering gym but once I saw people climbing on it as well as the amount of problems that are actually out there it actually looks really sick. also love the drone and b roll footage good video as well.

Just to clarify one thing: one of those topout boulders is more adult oriented. The one with the big prow is set with adult sizes and difficulty in mind, so you can practice your outdoor topouts! The others are mainly for kids, with one being for toddlers. Also, the traverses are for anyone, one is actually set to be somewhat ADA accessible. You can get a wheelchair right to the start holds.
