Indeed, we hoped the weather would be better. We were there around Easter which was beg. of April. Our theory is that the warm see at the end of the summer moderates the autumn and prolongs it, while the cold sea in the beginning of the spring can make it cooler. Just a theory 😎 In fact when visiting the cave of Castellana - grotte di Castellana we realized that it was warmer in the cave than outside. It is said to be around 16 degrees in the cave all year long, +/- a couple of degrees. So it was an extra nice destination to visit when windy outside 😄

Hi, I am not an expert but my impression was that traditional regional dishes also include le fave (big beans) and also ceci - chickpeas. Both can be found mashed, in stew-like dishes and in different creative ways. Also depending on the season, grilled zucchini, aubergine and pepper is always nice. Also artichokes 😋🤩

We were there beginning of April, but I believe we were a bit unlucky with the weather. It was not necessarily bad, but not particularly warm. And Brindisi we visited on a very windy day so we could walk down the streets but staying on the seaside walk was almost impossible that day.

Hi! We can definitely recommend Lecce if you appreciate Baroque city centres. Trani is my personal favourite of all the cities we visited. Beautiful and cozy. Apart from all the stuff you’d find recommended to visit, as you like chapels, we can recommend Chiesa Del Miracolo Eucaristico - Cappella Di San Salvatore. It is said that it happened a miracle there around the 10th century. It just a small house, but we found it interesting when some local people we met, took us there. As you would be coming from Naples, it could be worth a thought visiting Matera. Beautiful in a way that also gives one some shivers, given its history. If you’d go there we’d recommend you take a tour guide.
