Watch Steve Young horsemanship he shows how to get pushy horses to relax and respect your space. He shows how to get them to stand nicely at the mounting block. If a horse won’t stand at the mounting block to be ridden and you try to get on then he says you are ‘stealing a ride’. The horse should allow you to get on for safety purposes. He is great and as you were injured you might find it all very educational. I too broke my pelvis last year backing a young horse and I am 58. Have found ground work invaluable in teaching my horse to stand nicely..it also helps them to relax and build confidence in you as a rider/handler. Good luck with Rosie…she is beautiful.

It’s difficult in that environment to see the bigger picture. She did well to hold herself together the day before, and hopefully she benefited from that day. It’s unfortunate for both of you that the mounting block incident happened, but hopefully you’ll both get back on track with some tlc 🤞🏻

You did so well at camp, Rosie looked as though most of it she handled it well in the bits you shared. obs the incident with the accident. But hats off to you. things will get better. like you say lots of going out and about, arena hires and clinics are great they have worked well for us x keep going x x

as usual doing a great job, side reins are they bets to use when taking a horse out on the roads for the first time so they cant get theirheaeds and run kinda thing x
