Established in 2004, Alfanar is the first venture philanthropy organisation working exclusively in the Arab region. Our vision is of an Arab world in which the poor and vulnerable, especially women and children, are able to access the education and opportunity they need to lead productive and dignified lives.​ Our mission is to help social enterprises improve the lives of more people while increasing their financial sustainability. We do this by providing tailored technical and financial support to ambitious grassroots organisations, helping them to achieve lasting social change in their communities.
